Anyone running anything knows that you keep in house stuff in house.

Even hires.

Especially hires.

I didn’t even tell my elected officials when I made three key moves in my department this past year. Not even the ones I trusted. It’s not their job to meddle in my business. I have everyone’s best interest at heart, and I don’t need their outside influence on who I need to hire. It can only make it worse.

If DW wants that leak plugged, then that leak damn well better be plugged. It’s more professional that way.

Black-Ops Engineering, baby.

As mentioned before, DW explained his position on 104.5 last week, and it was very professional IMO. What he said was that coaches knowingly move a lot, but discretion helps in these cases to not upset current employers and players unnecessarily. He said that showing that level of respect to someone in those circumstances will be looked upon favorably in the future by prospects because they know you will do all you can to not make them look unfavorable to others.

It's so refreshing to have an adult running the UTAD.

From this point forward, we should just refer to our AD as "The Plumber". I agree with you though because someone needed to fix all this stuff. I do think this move will just fuel more rumors because in the absence of information, people just make stuff up. Gonna be interesting.

Danny "The Plumber" White. I like it

I think it's funny people think it's funny that he is trying to control how significant staffing changes are introduced.
He should be trying to control the narrative because that's his job. He just flashes his record like he never had a leak. It's easy to not have leaks when no one cares. That was the only point I was making.

I think they already have a DC and are just waiting to announce it. At this point I can't think of any negative to waiting to announce other than the apparent mental health impact on VN.
What is the reason for waiting? What benefit does it serve. And if they had it players would have leaked it by now, especially in a divided locker room.

If it's White, they could be holding off on the announcement because he has a pretty important game this weekend.

This is so correct except I think we are closer to the late 70’s when CJM coined the LoM phrase. Grew up on the Vols in mid-60’s (first game I saw in person was UT vs andy in Nashville). Saw Battle destroy what Dickey built (UT student in the early 70’s) and watched CJM roller coaster of results in 80’s. Fulmer built on Majors success but didn’t change with the times. Think this is the first time since the 90’s that we may actually have alignment between administration, AD, and boosters. Fans need to give it a chance rather than ordering a moving van like they did for Battle (IMO).
I agree that we are kind of stuck in a situation like that late 70s era. We have kept making bad hires which just resets the build back to square one every time.

Hopefully JH is the guy to actually finally get us past the foundation stage...which is what the early eighties were.

Not sure why it's such a big deal that some of us would like to know who our coaches are? Also don't understand the benefit of waiting to announce the staff all at once? Clearly, some of his former UCF staff have followed CJH. I have zero problem with that. Why don't we just announce who they are? I agree there are certain things that should be kept secret. I'm not sure I understand the need to keep everything secret. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally, I just find some of this hush-hush, it's a secret a little over-the-top and a bit alienating. I'm not sure how keeping your staff secret actually builds culture.
They’re probably just trying to calm all of the rabid fans down. I wouldn’t be shocked if DW said “I’m going to let the football fans breathe for a week.” I wouldn’t blame him. Too many of us make UT Football an idol, and it makes us look bad...especially on Twitter.

Thank you!
