So who made the better hire:

Aurburn- Harsin

S. Carolina - Beamer

Vols- Heupel

Vols = Auburn > USCe ( I think I did this right )

We mirror Auburn in so many ways that it is sickening. We recruit the same kids (Finish around the same spot, around the same average) , and when I say that, I mean it's always a fight between us, or it's felt that way the last several years, imo.

Funny how we end up firing the same year and hire the same caliber coach. It will be interesting to see how many kids we go head to head again with them.

It will be real funny if/when we end up hiring Steele, Garner, and TWill.

Lebby is an oc who is getting looks as hc. He's not making lateral or backwards moves. Good chance he becomes UCF hc.

Imagine this, Josh Heupel at Auburn the last 3 seasons instead of Gus, what is their record?

Maybe, just maybe, we can be what Gus never could do.....have a GOOD offense. (I'm referencing my post from above about us recruiting around the same as Auburn)

We have the same type athletes. What if we do get Steele, Garner, and TWill? The east is easier than the west, especially with the same type athletes

Proud to see him do well, but it sucks to think about what should have been. What kind of galactically stupid coaches do you have to be to totally ignore the middle of the field on both offense and defense?

Palmer was just another in a looooong line of tragically wasted offensive talents at Tennessee. I am glad those days are over.

Ultimately that depends on Heupels defensive hires. I think for us and what we need, Heupel was the best. I think Harsin is a good coach, but Heupel has proven to be one of the best offensive coaches out there.

This is subjective but I don't think Beamer hasn't even ever been an OC or DC so as a first year HC I've got to wonder who is going to be running the show in SC.

247Sports in October had a panel of experts using some objective criteria rank the top coaches in CFB.

They had Heupel between Campbell on top and Kiffin below. Further down they had Fickel and then Harsin. So out of those 5 we got the second best according to 247 and Auburn got the worst. Beamer obviously wasn't qualified to make the list.

I’m also not sure it’s a given he gets the UCF job. There’s plenty of competition for that job.
