Haynesworth calling for boycott...

The opportunity to go into the coaching ranks is the same for everyone, but, you can lead a horse to water...

I disagree with this premise. If the overwhelming majority of white people are in leadership positions and making the decisions, how is it the same for everyone?

I appreciate the mature engagement.

You listed all the proof. IMO, it starts at the lower levels. It all begins with the initial chance. I definitely believe we have come a long way but it is proven than implicit and explicit biases exist. There have to be steps taken to circumvent our dumb human flaws. This applies to all people in all professions.

To me...and I'm sure you think it's an oversimplification, but I truly think it's only a racist issue if the ratio is glaringly below the national population percentages.

Approx 14% of the US Population is black. So of that 14%, roughly 48% are male. That means black males make up approximately 6.4% of the total US population. Considering that football coaching is 99.9999999999% male dominated, it's perfectly reasonable to not factor black females into the equation. Now, there are 129 FBS level football programs in the country and of those programs, 12 of them have black head football coaches. That means 9.3% of the FBS level football programs are being coached by African Americans. That is a 2.9% increase in ratio over the general black male population. I'm sorry, I just do not see the "systemic racism" at play here. I see a natural byproduct of the ratio of available black coaches vs available white coaches, based solely on the difference in population.

Sad takeaway
That is exactly what you are preaching though. I asked you to give me a couple of names that would make good COLLEGE head coaches. You gave me two NFL coaches. Even you, in all your holier than thou rants, still can’t name any. Lovie got fired because he wasn’t worth a damn, same for Gill. And Tee didn’t get an interview because he isn’t qualified, even though some want to pretend he is, he isn’t. Hell, he isn’t a good WR coach.

Don't shoot down his Systemic Racism card with facts and logic...its all he's got.

So by this logic black people are not capable of coaching to the same level as white people?

College Football Doesn’t Give Black Coaches Many Chances

I will say this: If the next Voice of the Vols is black, bring him on. I feel he will be an upgrade to Bob. If in the future we have a black AD? He can do no worse than some of the white guys we have had. And if we one day have a black head coach? My only concern will be that some stupid rednecks show up at his wife's place of business and harass her there, as was reported after Cuonzo Martin resigned.

Had Tony Elliott accepted the offer? I would have done my best to support him. But I will also say, when word got out he declined? Due to the incident listed above, I was relieved, because unfortunately, though 99.999% of us would never do that crap? That 0.001% that would, in the eyes of folks like you, reflects on all of us. And ya know what? That sucks.

Holy S***t dude.....why can't we all just be Americans? No hyphens? Why do we need to make every f*****g thing about skin color? Its old....really old.

I’ll catch you up: There are 0 black coaches in the entire league.
Seems like a popular discussion point if you want to join in.
There are two AA head basketball coaches in the SEC right now. There have been FIVE Black head football coaches in the SEC in the recent past. All lost their jobs for the same reason white coaches lose their positions. Lack of SUCCESS, NOT quantity of melanin in their skin. College sports contests and outcomes are, by definition, dependent on merit (or meritocracy—since you seem so fond of the word).
