Welp.

Unlike previous administrations, I believe that we did swing for the fences. I don’t know what White is supposed to do if no one will touch us in our current state.

Heupel is offense-minded. I’m ready to be excited to watch him get us moving again. GBO!

Everyone reacts like ADDW had Heupel in his sights from day one. We are a train wreck getting ready to be on probation for 2-3 years AFTER the NCAA takes a year to figure it out. I like the fact that CJH is willing to come here and make a go of it. Who knows, he might work out. He is who we have for the conceivable future though. I hope all these morons dropping their season tickets don't want top dollar for them when I start looking to go to some games this fall. We just bought a place that puts me well under 4 hours getting to K'town.

Bingo.
Kiffin and Freeze weren't legitimate options, imo, given the impending sanctions and scholarship reductions.
These people who always think throwing enough money at something and perpetual fahrins will automatically "fix it" are foolish. Then again, it's always somebody else's money. If Campbell and his family like it in Ames, the assumption that extra $$ will automatically cause him to want him to come here is crazy. That would have been a homerun hire. I do not like or respect James Franklin either.
People always gonna bish and know better than anyone else what will fix it.

barring a miracle, the deed looks to be done. i was hoping that the apparent rejections the past few days would have driven them into the arms of Freeze. didn't happen. i hope heupel is the missing ingredient.

As much as I’d love to see White do an “I’ve Got a Secret” surprise at the presser, I’m pretty sure that the utsports.com announcement pretty well seals the deal.

His stock skyrockets if he pulls UT out of the fire. And what's the risk? A history of recent ex-UT HCs: Becomes a P5 AD, gets any NCAA HC job he wants, becomes an NFL/SEC coordinator, gets a cushy job with the current national champions. It's a risk I'd take.

Edit: I am glad he came. I'm glad anyone came.

I don't think Campbell, Fleck, etc were options. No one wants to come here with this state. Why 99% of the fan base can't see this is mind boggling. Yes this is our team, but come on.
