Word. Why didn’t he recruit great? Is UCF a difficult place to recruit?

UCF just not a historic football program. They don’t have a national footprint. Their Surrounded by the big 3: UF, FSU & Miami.
On top of that, other Natioanally ranked teams come in and pluck the best of the best.
So UCF usually gets the kids who are overlooked or just a little undersized.
and to top it off, Orlando (central Florida area) doesn’t produce the same type of talent that Miami, palm beach, Tallahassee and other areas produce.

Basilio talking about football right now, he said Fulmer absolutely destroyed the program and the number floating around coaches is 50 violations. Basilio thinks we did talk to Chadwell. He said Sonny Dykes did turn down the job. He said Heupel was the only one willing to take the job. Basillio said people he has talked to, they aren't happy with Heupel he isn't moving the bar, program is slipping. He said he think White tried, but nobody wanted the job. He said the one thing they didn't do, as of tonight they haven't talked to Jimmy Sexton clients. Napier, Kiffin and a few others weren't talked to. Said we didn't talk to Herman but the word on him is he needs to go back to the mid majors and prove he can get along with people. Basilio said Tony Elliott would take the UCF job to replace Heupel over the TN job. The UCF job is viewed as a better job in the coaching world right now
Freeze and Chadwell want it and would crawl here. Tired of excuses. And Elliott was gauging coaches interests. You don’t do that unless you are waiting on an offer. Calling BS. Excuses galore.

I know some of yal lap up his spill, but Basillio is a drama queen. Always has been. Most of his talk is pure nonsense.

He feeds off drama. More Jerry Springer than legit reporter.

Bama when Saban took over compared to UT currently are not even in the same universe in terms of roster talent and recent W/L records, to name a few things. Apples to oranges.

The point was that if you pay enough it doesn't matter. The worse it is, the more you have to pay but there's always a price.
*Not that I ever dreamed we'd do that. But we've been saying that for over a decade, not just this hire and it's always the same.

The 1 thing I accept above all else now - The new insane SEC TV contracts have made TN fans less of a priority. They would like the additional revenue. But they no longer HAVE to try to please us to make money. All we can do is hope they actually want to win.

What makes the neyland rising post so great is he has been trucking along from behind for so long and to finally catch up in time to bring a full one Mehupel post is just classic

It’s just an epic first post for @Neyland Rising and he probably just gave this thread our nickname for Heupel. Legendary.
