6'1'' really isn't a big issue. 5'11" is when you may want to start getting worried.

I may remind you of our two recent transfers; CJ Leak and Rick Clausen. Since some on this board hate the word Sucks, I'll put it this way. If a QB transfers, he probably is sucking on the hind tit. But at this point we may need all the help we can get.

i saw this kid play a few times this season.....kind of a gunslinger, not a great decision maker.........

reminds me of a cocky rick clausen.........i don't know that him coming here, if at all ture, is any sort of upgrade. He did get benched several times throughout the year in favor of the other kid at the u........forget his name........

anyway......nothing i would get excited about.

Jacory Harris

And a cocky rick clausen sounds horrid.

Marve would be an upgrade over all 3 of our current QB's and could develop into a good player. I don't see him as a long-term solution, though.

If he is a starter, why is thinking about a transfer??????

For me, the jury is still out, way out on this one.

I am not sure how good he is but it would probably still be an improvement over what we have now. i just think its great that recruits are starting to ask to be here.

Also, it would be kinda pointless for us. By the time he would see any significant playing time Kiffin would already have his future QB on campus.

Off subject but can you imagine if Ryan Mallett xfered here instead of Arky... That dude is like 6'7 with a cannon and will be a rs soph...

keep in mind, when talking improvement, relatively speaking, your talking about a guy that as 13 picks to 9 tds.

even if that's "improvement" that's not the kind of improvement we need.

Many arkansas fans I know seem to think little Dick will challenge for the starting position and also one other guy has a very good chance...can't remember his name. Mallett may have had much less competition here but then again no one knew our QBs would suck this bad.

If our coaching staff can turn a 6'1, 9TD 14INT quarterback into a prolific SEC QB, I can't really see why they can't do the same for our two QB (mark down Crompton).

I agree. Marve was in the same recruiting class as B.J. Coleman. Marve was #8 and Coleman #10.
I don't see how taking a transfer and waiting for him to sit out a year would really benefit us that much. I would rather develop the guys we have and bring in a highly touted true freshman for the 2010 class.

I wouldn't bet on landing a QB this class.

True it might be too late in to really get a great one out of this class. Maybe Kiffin can turn crompton into a decent QB. Kiffin is not a miracle worker so I am not saying great just decent.

I have seen this kid play and he has a cannon but lacks a lot between the ears...Makes a lot of dumb decisions and bad throws...I say we work with what we have and get the #1 next year
