I just don't think we are in a position where we get the high level "squeaky clean" candidate. We either way overpay, take a chance on someone, or just pay pennies to a coordinator and hope it works.

Same. He's a douche and a bad coach. Has nothing to do with Psu issue.

The guy belongs in New Jersey.

And I have no problem with those who were pissed because they think he was a terrible coach. But those who brought up Schianos past then say Franklin's doesn't matter is who I do have an issue with

I think what he did at Rutgers the first time was similar to what Franklin did at vandy

I think Nfl Head coaching Experience is a huge thing on a resume

I think him winning more big ten games this year than in the history of their program says different.

I think he’d be winning nicely here

Franklin at Vandy was 24-15
Schiano at Rutgers was 68-67

Franklin > Schiano

Rutgers was in the Big East I dint put any stock into his time there.
He was a failed NFL coach.
He won the same amount of games as Pruitt this year.
Nothing screams good to me

So by most accounts.
Franklin is a damn good coach.
From what I recall, can recruit pretty well, and has ties already to the south.
Was vetted and cleared by a school recovering from a child/athlete molestation case.
Is willing to come here, supposedly...
BUT, he’s an ass? (Which I agree, but could care less! Not like I’ll ever meet him or have my kids around him!)

Is that’s seriously, yalls only problem with him?

That’d be something if AV told everyone to be supportive because he knew it was Franklin.

That’d be a twist, knew there would be mixed reception.

Well Brian Kelly shouldn’t be employed but that’s neither here nor there.

And none of those coaches you mentioned have been sued twice in the past year and testify in a gang rape trial committed by their players.

You’re ignoring the argument. It’s not that Franklin has baggage. Every coach does. It’s the a) what the baggage is b) how much baggage there is and c) the fact he has baggage at both of his stops.
