Just want to clarify that the end of my post is as important as the beginning. I believe that we’ve made one offer only, and that is JF. My friend is noticeably worried that we’re on day three after agreeing to basic terms. I think it better wrap up today. I can’t imagine that it could drag on now that it’s in the news.

So there could be a proverbial fly in the ointment? It makes sense that there hasn't seemingly been a ton of confirmed movement on other candidates over the last few days. (outside of us here on VN)

He wanted to bring his entire staff to NY, owner didn’t like that therefore he didn’t get sign on the line. My guess is a different NFL team that’s open to his demands and power or one of the elites in the north. ND/OSU/Mich.

Not a huge Franklin fan, I think he’s grown since his time at Vandy as a man though.

On the field, he’s a big fish hire that would definitely draw national media attention. A decade of coaching at Vandy & rebuilding a handicapped Penn State and he’s at 66% winning percentage for his career.

Worse season has been just 1 game below 500, only happened twice.

84-43, 6 seasons winning at least 9 games in the two toughest Power 5 conferences too.

It's easy to crucify someone without knowing any factual information about his past.

Legitimately one of the best coaches in America. Would instantly be the 3rd best coach in the conference. He was vetted by Penn State and cleared. He would be a grand slam.

PSU, the search firm and UT would have done extensive background checks on him. So maybe those of us that don’t like him just don’t like him because he kicked our ass when at Vandy and maybe he didn’t actually cover up rape and maybe is a good guy.

And nationally this would send shockwaves throughout the sports world that dumpster fire joke of a program UT just hired JF away from PSU. It would be massive nationally.

Well, I’ve been able to bounce some questions off of my friend given there is a blend of legitimate leaks, and bogus ones among local journalists. It’s Franklin. It was Franklin Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and today. They’ve believed it’s been wrapped up since Sunday night, but taking steps forward has stalled more than once. This is the only real offer that has been made. We did not offer Dykes, Fleck or anyone else. Based on past conversations, I still think Elliot is 2. I don’t know that as a fact. They had hoped to have a team meeting last night, then this morning. There is not currently anything on the schedule for this afternoon either. That doesn’t sound good if you like the idea of Franklin. That said, my friend says they’ve been agreed on general terms since Sunday. He has no idea why it hasn’t crossed the finish line. Everything he’s heard is that it’s Franklin, but nothing is moving in a way that indicates the normal next steps. It could just be slowly moving forward or coming off the rails. My friend says it’s Franklin until he hears otherwise.

Probably why White doesn’t particularly give a **** what the vocal minority of UT fans think. If you want to win, Franklin is the best option.

Very mixed feelings about it. What he is accused of is very heinous, but there has been no evidence, only statements from defendants' attorneys. We will never know the truth, but if there was something there, I have to believe that someone would have found it by now. Still, it's a hard pill for me to swallow.
