I agree with you, and we both agree against the OP’s comments calling Dabo a glorified cheerleader. He is every bit responsible for Clemsons success, not solely Elliott. My biggest fear is letting another Coordinator steer the ship at UT in the SEC as his first HC position. That’s something that should be hammered out in the Sun Belt, MAC, or MT West etc.Yet, if Saban retired tomorrow, that program would almost certainly fall back to mortality within 1-2 years. Why? Because without the genius behind the machine, the success cannot continue. What we don't yet know is how much of Clemson's fortunes are based on Elliot. His offensive numbers are next level. Of any potential OC hires, I think he's got the most upside in the country.
Yes players go there because of the culture created. But Dabo isn't the one who spends the majority of the time with them. Dabo isn't the one who develops them. You do realize that players go to Clemson because of Dabo and the Clemson brand and not Elliott right? Players go to bama for Saban, not Pruitt. At a certain point, the school and HC sell themselves
he's been around today.....yes. lol. reminiscing about cut off legs.....how you doin' behr?Any of you guys seen @chargervol lately?
Agreed. But if we're so far down the HC list that we're considering mediocrity, I'd rather bet on a potential future superstar. Also, it can't be overstated how well Elliot would recruit. He would be head and shoulders above what we've enjoyed the last few coaches. I think he can pull top 5 classes right away.I agree with you, and we both agree against the OP’s comments calling Dabo a glorified cheerleader. What madness?Get Chadwell and end the madness. Salter, Hooker running his offense with our young backs and WRs could actually be pretty good. He's catered his O to overcome talent deficiencies, which we will have on the OL and at TE. Head coach of the year. Built up a couple of programs already. Southern ties. Hot name. Young and has the juice for recruiting with our resources. If not a top tier candidate, idk how we skip over him just because of his agent. We'll be very upset in a few years when turns one of our competitors around.
And neither is Elliott. Sure he spends more time with the players than Dabo, but would he have the caliber of talent to compete if it wasn’t for Dabo? Does he specifically develop the RBs, QBs, etc or do the position coaches. Yes he may develop the game plan but he wouldn’t be near as successful if they had our talent level... in a rougher conference.Yes players go there because of the culture created.
