Head coach is all about personality/temperament. TE and Pruitt couldn’t be more different when it comes to that. Pruitt was a dumbass hot head that no one wanted to work for. Hence why we had to hire complete losers last offseason

We will see, hasn't been hired yet but if we're back here in 3 or 4 years I hope they just get rid of the program. This is beyond embarrassing

TB has emotionally hit rock bottom today. I had to turn him off for my sanity. He swears Sonny Dykes turned down this job. He also swears he has screen shots from a booster with Kiffin asking to get in front of DW for the job.

I’ve listened to TB for 15 years, always remember he wears it on his sleeve.

His deal isn’t for everyone, but he is a fan and doesn’t care to hide it. The only problem is he thinks he a mover and shaker but he’s one of us with a microphone.

I can’t help but like him though.

I think it's the cumulative effect. This + that + this and that + everything else = a lot to overcome, with the expectation that it can be overcome quickly. Admin can call for patience, but they're unlikely to get it for long at a beaten-down program desperate to win now in an unforgiving conference.

I still don't understand why it matters. Sure it may be a lot to over come, but if you are getting paid 7-8 mil what does it matter? Nobody will hold it against you if you fail, they will all blame it on the sanctions and whatever else. plus you are getting fat checks in the process.

Local sports radio here in SC say tony Elliott would be an idiot to take the tennessee job. He’d have better options open up if he waits it out, places he wouldn’t be destined to fail. They also said South Carolina will recover before tennessee does because we’re beyond fixing.

I agree with this because Tennessee hasn't learned anything

Definitely get the frustration but don’t hold a grudge against TE just because we had a Gump here. They couldn’t be more different in terms of personality

I always thought the hire would have some warts or question marks. At least with Elliott I can see the vision. I think we will have a Top 8 class in 2022 if he's the pick.

I'll get there eventually. It's hard to come down from Campbell and Franklin to Elliot. but if he lands a class like that I'd be on board. Of course, we don't even know how many scholarships he'll have available

I appreciate Atlanta Vol's posts, and I'm not saying I *totally* believe this to be the case, but he said himself at the beginning of the search that he's just going to drop by to give some positive vibes. I would not be surprised if he's trying to keep everyone calm by being reassuring while we plan out a Tony Elliott hire that he knows will be met with mixed reception.

Basically, he has shown a willingness to stretch the truth and be very selective with the information he gives out.

He's basically saying "calm down, we got rid of Fulmer which was the main goal. We're going to hire another sh!tty football coach but at least it wasn't Fulmer doing it this time"

That started out in smaller jobs, we just fired a guy that had no experience which is exactly why we're in this position. Now we're signing up for more of the same, no thanks

I get what youre saying but not all oc/dc’s are as bad as Pruitt. Lol. Plenty have success as a first time HC. See OSU for example. Only problem i have with Elliott is his complete lack of experience with anything but the best players.

That's the UT I know and shows nothing has really changed.

He may not be wrong, but he may not be completely right either. There are so many moving parts in college football. We get the right guy in place w/ the right QB that automatically changes things, who knows what kind of coaching carousel goes on w/ Mullen or Kirby or even with Saban getting older? There’s going to be a lot of changes happening. Hopefully we will actually be trending in the right direction and be able to take advantage of some others misfortune or instability.

Sure a QB helps move things a long. But our roster has so many warts on it that its gonna take awhile to cover them up.

Considering I live in the clemson market, I’d think they hope we recover before USCe. They just don’t think we ever will.

I'm not willing to write Elliott off just because he hasn't been a head coach. I would rather a proven guy from a P5, but Dabo had zero experience and essentially went from WR coach to HC at Clemson.

Honestly, I think Elliott is far from the same cloth as Pruitt.

Hey, BTW, it is possible that some of these coordinators that are underwhelming for HC we're hearing about we could be considering to come to UT as coordinators as well. Especially if you assume ADDW has his guy already.

Elliott. Not even close.
