This is off topic, but anyone that was on yesterday and saw the post about 2 hunters getting shot and killed on Reelfoot lake. It was 2 young men in their mid 20s. They shot some swing ducks and a 70 year old man in another blind got mad about it and went to their blind and killed 2 of the 3. The 3rd fought him and got away. The shooter is still at large. Extremely tragic and uncalled for. Over some dang ducks. SMH

I was reading about this situation last night said. Also why the hell are we shooting people over ducks. People gotta chill out.

Pruitt and Elliot shouldn’t be compared. Pruitt clearly had red flags: cheating on wife at FSU, constantly fighting with coaches at UGA, and then being a “great DC” at Alabama.

What are the red flags for tony Elliot?

I think we're trying to convince ourselves with really no evidence that this would be a good hire. But, I'm trying to keep my same mentality, that if DW sees it in him, he has a great track record.

I always thought the hire would have some warts or question marks. At least with Elliott I can see the vision. I think we will have a Top 8 class in 2022 if he's the pick.

Outside of personal issues he is cut from the same cloth

If it's Elliott, can easily envision a great staff to support him, that he knows, and that can all be on the same page from day one.

On offense, retain Tee and Jay (who he knows and has worked with), and pay a ton of money to get a good O-line coach.

Retain Kevin Steele, make Kevin Simon and on-field coach, bring in Rodney Garner, and see if we can retain Ansley to coach the secondary.

That's a staff that will clean up in recruiting on the 2022 class and put us in a position to compete in 2022.

I think if we can't secure an A lister, Elliot isn't the worst thing. He's offensive oriented. He can recruit. Its the management side for me. Can he handle the external forces being the head man? Who knows. Everyone started as an assistant coach. Maybe he handles it.

Pruitt atleast won national championships at two different stops in two different conferences. He had a better resume than Elliott currently does, IMO.

Hype him up during the off season until we start losing in SEC play again.
