Sadly, the NCAA seems to hammer the schools who self-report the most. Schools who deny get away with it usually.

Nobody in media is talking about Campbell. But he fits the profile perfectly and dude is at Iowa State. We are desperate and are openly willing to overpay. We can offer this guy anything he can come up with. With a sparkly new AD who is known as a visionary.

Campbell makes all the sense in the world to us. If it’s not him, I hope we made him turn down generational wealth.

The question is whether he thinks it makes sense for him. I could certainly make the sales pitch, but plenty of reasons that he might not bite, given that he could presumably get half the coaches in CFB fired with one call to their AD saying he wants a change of scenery.

For folks freaking out this is my opinion that should calm people down. Jamey Chadwell will take the job. If you can live with that, that’s the floor in this search.

Agreed, it's hit or miss here, too. But by and large I've been impressed with the kids that have transferred in from CCs. I'm on a solid run of getting students from CCs through here and into some pretty great graduate programs. My all-time favorite student was a guy who worked as a janitor at a CC while taking classes, transferred here, graduated with a 4.0, and is crushing it at a MA program right now. Hardest working kid I've ever met.

I too have had some great kids come through. Just had one get into the #1 PT program in the country.

Sounds like we got him a big raise at ISU

‘This actually sounds like a CYA post to me. It seems like this is confirmation that we offered big money and ISU is countering, ie “negotiating right now” - why would they be doing it right now? There was a report recently that his staff has to take yearly pay cuts, not pay raise. So what has changed? We probably offered him a boatload. It’s the only thing that makes sense.

Of course it doesn’t mean he will take it, but I feel good that we are at least aiming at that level of coach (if true).

You can’t win a natty at ISU. Their resources and facilities are subpar to what we have to offer

Very true. Mainly I'm just hoping our newly and highly paid AD can make something legendary happen. You got to pull out all the stops and at least make him think about it.

If you can get him picturing himself here at all you've got a shot. This place is special.
