Driving my daughter to school today and listening to The Game (old Z93) here in Georgia, and man Mike Griffith of DogNation was hammering UT for paying 1.8 million for an AD. I know he's a UGA fanboy/reporter but I really hope we prove everyone wrong with a home run hire. We need to kill this hire if we want to catch up to UGA, Bama and Florida.

That is an incredible list.

Not a weak coach in the bunch.

I would have a hard time getting on board with Franklin just because of the personal stuff but he's a great coach.

Anyone allowed to sleep on a deal could possibly wake up and decide something other than what they thought the night before. Just making a casual observation, but if this deal was only verbally agreed to last night, that decision might change if it wasn't inked. Hope we don't go from A to B because of this possibility.

More than anything I think most just want to know who it is,, sooner than later. Me, and it's probably an unpopular opinion.................... I just want the best hire possible, even if that means it's not today.

It may be Peterson. It's been stated we've made a big boy offer and we're after a whale. Peterson is definitely one of about 8-10 coaches that would be considered a whale IMO. He's also young (56) and only one year removed from being a HC. He's also very offensive minded and who knows maybe a year is all he needed to recharge his batteries. The big thing for me is if we made an offer to a current sitting coach that should have leaked or be leaking currently because I'd imagine that guy would want to tell his team or the boosters would know because they'd have to pony up for him. Peterson checks all the boxes and would be pretty left-field of a hire because everyone has written him off as not really wanting to coach again.

Nah, we wouldn't go for him. He's a very solid coach, but I'd rather take a flier on Leipold or Chadwell than pay him $5 million to come here.

If it’s a sitting HC, I’m sure we would hear leaks from the other team sources before a press conference. That being said, it would be insane...it has been tight-lipped.
