Who cares. We have little talent. We are in the dumps. We are facing sanctions. Don’t care he’s a minority. We need a winner, someone with experience. The coordinator route is a no go and would be insanely stupid based upon our present situation. He is not the answer to what we need. Would take a miracle for him to succeed here

But you want chadwell who has had a losing record 5 of 11 years as a coach at minor league football

My concern is how does he recruit on offense and would we be totally screwed if he got fired and had a roster of guys geared towards his unique offense?
Honestly not sure. But it would be very entertaining to watch. Maybe his offense would be the next trend lol

But is he worth the risk?

Do we really want to try another experiment?
Oh I'm not necessarily advocating for Elliott over anyone. But I'd that's who we wind up with... An Elliott hire doesn't equal Pruitt just because they're both coordinators.

I still think we're getting an experienced HC.

Chadwell is literally 4 points away from being an almost unanimous "want" by the fanbase. Just needed to beat Liberty in the Cure Bowl. If he was 12-0 with a win over Freeze, it would be a no-brainer around here.

4 pts wouldn’t change the fact he’s a minor league football coach with 5 losing seasons of his 11 as a head coach

You think that's why Chadwell is at the bottom of the list and not the top? 4 points and one game?

You aren't giving the people on this forum nearly enough credit with that analysis.

Chadwell has been a coach for a while now. You have to look at the full body of work just like every other coach.

His body of work is fine. And he's trending up. Beat Napier and an 11-1 BYU team.

And yes, if Chadwell had gone 12-0 and beat Freeze, the perception of him would be different. It's hard to argue against undefeated.

Elliot has not been a head coach before and built a program. The answer for that should be no. We need an established coach that can win immediately
I agree that we need a sitting head coach, however, if Elliott is the hire, it will be argued he helped “build” Clemson. He’s been there for the entire rise.

Maaaaan, how fun is this? We finally fired Pruitt and Fulmer, we then realized we have some serious big time admin in Plowman and Boyd, the younger big money boosters decided to break out the wallets, hired a top 4 AD, we’re about to hire a top tier HC and spring ball is around the corner.

Smiling from ear to ear this morning...

I said it’s great to be a Tennessee Vol!!!
Ron taking Danny White's positive attitude to VN. Fight the good fight my man I like it. GBO.

If we’re seriously going the route of hiring someone that has zero head coaching experience, then give me Jarod Mayo.

He has learned under arguably the greatest coach of all-time and he was just interviewing for NFL head coaching gigs. It would be another stress-inducing experiment that likely ends in disaster, but at least the guy is an alumni and knows what this place means to the fanbase. He would be here cause he wants to be here, and not just be here for the fat paycheck like Elliot.

Major experience difference. Mayo has only been a coach for 2 years and never called plays. Elliott has been a coach for many more and called plays.

Scott Frost went undefeated and plenty of people don't want him either.

You said his body if work was fine but still didn't mention anything outside of the 2020 season.

If you think Elliott is the man, you hire him. You don’t let Jeremy Pruitt’s failures dictate who you can and can’t hire.

Elliott is a good coach, a creative mind, young and recruits really well. I’m all for it if this is the pick.
I agree. Danny White has a track record of hiring good coaches then supporting them with whatever they need to be successful. Let the man do his job. He's a pro.
