Fickell looks good but not if he’s proven yet either, not in a power 5 program, not enticed by him
Napier is unproven as well
Chadwell, looks interesting but still unproven at power 5
Bieniemy looks good but not so sure if proven yet
Gus is proven but Gus also has stayed in middle of pack for a while, plus heard they are hiring a sitting coach,
Freeze would be home run IMO but won’t get looked at because of baggage unfortunately
Herman hasn’t been at a stop long enough to really see if he can be a proven coach past 4 years, looks like a great hire but there’s a lot to prove plus they said it would be a sitting coach

Coached at Clemson & Bama among others

Chadwell is unproven specifically at a big level - but that’s part of what I’m saying.....PJ has had his chance......and it’s been OK.....but noting amazing.

Bieniemy works for a freakin legend, is probably the best OC in the NFL. He is smart, he is proven (not HC wise but coaching wise) and he could bring in recruits like the 90’s.

Gus’s record is better tha PJ’s......in a tougher spot too.

Freeze not going to happen but much better than PJ.

Herman has been around as much as PJ......but with better results.

Let’s see....Napier is at a sun belt school so he’s unproven in a big school

Chadwell is very unproven

Bienemy works in NFL, don’t know if he could recruit or be happy at the college level and has not been head coach

Gus I put in the Fulmer realm where he has the tools but don’t use them

Freeze would be best option period, hands down but not happening

Herman has only been head coach 6 years and you can’t go by other coaches recruits, think he could be good tho

You win.....PJ is the best and most obvious choice for the Tennessee head coaching job.

Heck he is over .500 so that’s good.
While he is inconsistent he can get you a double digit win every now and then.

Look dude I never said PJ was my pick, I said he should get a look, just like the rest, I will say this just like I’ve said about Dooley, Butch and cornbread, Napier is not ready for a power 5 program

WHOEVER . . . . this new AD hires as coach, the first thing he will have to do is to TRY to stop the bleeding. If the Jimmies and Joes are gone, the X's and O's mean nothing.

I hope Manning stays as far away as possible from any decision making in hiring a coach. It just doesn’t seem to be his strong suit. Don’t need his input. All UT needs is positive statements from him about whoever they hire just like he always has.

He’s the greatest ambassador UT has or will ever have. I just feel like he should enjoy being the ultimate UT legend, show up to games, rep UT like he always has and that be that. I don’t want him to ever coach here either. I don’t even know if I’d want him to be a QB coach/ passing game coord. As it stands now the man could probably run for governor of this state and win by a enormous landslide. Tons of kids born in the late 90s and after in this state are named Peyton. If he were to coach here and it didn’t work out.. that would be forever ruined. I just really don’t want to ever think of a situation where UT fans would hold a negative opinion of him. He’s one of the few things Tennessee football still has going for them.

Your probably thinking of Patterson.

He wanted the job.....Tennessee thought it was too big for him.

He went on to have success after success until recently.

While Tennessee has died.

Why not PJ Fleck? Well, he's obnoxious and thin skinned.

Why not Chris Peterson? I don't think anyone would be opposed, but does he still want to coach?

Hubbs is inside the building. He works with the Vol Network, and very obviously has legitimate UT sources. Basilio is in his basement.

Wallace reported the investigation and allegations issues first. He broke the news on the investigation the day of the A&M game.

Mot of these guys are just guessing, but I've never been impressed with Tony B. Maybe it's just because the production value of his show seems so amateurish. I don't know, and it could just be me.
