Atlanta Vol said we had FU money, and someone suggested 40mil had been committed
Was that amount for just a coach? Cause if $40 mil was in all then with ADDW's buyout and contract we're roughly playing with around $33 mil now for a coach. And I've heard they're wanting a 5 yr deal so that's only $6 mil a year which is great but I'm just tryna look at all possibilities. A 6 mil yr coach vs a 8 mil yr coach is a lil different. That's say, Malzhan vs Saban kinda money.

I like white and absolutely trust him. I just think there are a lot who won't accept someone who isn't kiffin because of how rampant his name is running through the media at the moment.
I don’t want the AD to select someone all the fans will accept.... I want him to hire the best coach/program builder possible.... winning will bring all the fans together.

You're that sure it's Fickell or Campbell?
I’m positive that the floor now is Pretty high. I don’t know the list, but they are going to go big and make people tell them no many times. Our new AD can go after anyone now and he always gets winners. I think Matt Campbell is perfect for here and I wouldn’t doubt them going all in. But all a guess, but I’m sure Kiffin is pushing a lot of his name because he would love to come back.

So here's food for thought.
Who were the early favorites for the AD job? Ingram and Gilbert. Scott Carter was mentioned as well.
We have new leadership, on the hill, things have been extremely tight lipped. How many radio personalities were talking about Danny White? Literally besides @BruinVol being random as hell, I don't think I heard white mentioned until just before the hire was made last night.

I like Kiffin, I wanted him back in 17. But I feel very confident in saying we haven't brought up the name of who the coach is going to end up being. Or at least beat the dead horse on their name over and over.
The harder part of this is that the general populous knows 1-2 ADs, maybe a few more. Coaches are more well known and obvious and non-obvious ones are discussed. It may not be on the radar, but I bet it's someone that has been discussed on here.

They want someone who’s committed to be here not someone that they’re always gonna have to question.

You really can’t say that when you talk Lane Kiffin
You can tie him up, there's enough yearly salary to offer to make his buyout to leave impossible like a James Franklin type deal.

i doubt he leaves in the middle of the night twice. USC was his dream job, they won’t hire him again. There’s no where else to go besides there. And if we’re worrying about him leaving for alabama when saban retires then we’ve done really well in the mean time and he was worth it

His buyout is 5 mil so thats not super high and he's been trying to get back here for 3 years now.
That was the original buyout before they restructured it early January. The only details that were released so far is that they specifically mentioned that the buyout was increased and was the main change in the extension. I think it's probably in the top half of the SEC in buyout amount now.

Imagine at the press conference today when they start asking him about the next head coach he was in the press pool wearing a fake beard and sunglasses. White said "What do you think Coach? Should we let them in on the secret?"
