As a UCF grad I'm so torn by this. Haha I hate to lose him at UCF but as a lifelong Tennessee fan this is an incredible homerun hire. And how fast it happened makes it even more incredible. Every hire White has made as AD at both Buffalo and UCF, in basketball and football, have been objectively great hires and have all had more success than expected.
Long time no speak friend, welcome back! Guess all that Kiffin talk has lured you out. Ha

I wish I never read that article. Some of the names- come on, VQ.
Hubbs circled back and started another thread after that saying that those names were just names that had been thrown around lol. He said we had been clamoring for names so they just threw some in there. What a joke.

I guess you missed the whole Pruitt will not be fired. Fulmer will not be fired. Steele will be the interim that's our only hope. Nobody even thought DW was a possibility. Now it's that an NFL guy would never leave. Maybe there's one that doesn't like the NFL and will take the money. Like a Saban
I mean I'm a huge rhule fan but he ain't giving up after 1 covid season where he didn't have CMC to lean on. Even saban was there a couple of years and probably still would be if they let him sign brees. Petrino is the only 1 I remember just giving up immediately in the NFL. Tomlin or Nagy I could maybe see as guys ready to move but still doubt it. Plenty of fired NFL head coaches or current NFL coordinators that I can see happening though.

White has a history of offensive minded coaches, but I think Fickell makes a lot of sense.
Mich and Oh St are coming open anytime soon( those are what he wants).
He is at Cincy, yes he is paid well, but he saw firsthand this year how an undefeated G5 team won't get any respect. I think 6.5 a year peaks his interest.

As of right now I am landing on Fleck or Fickell...both have recently loss top coordinators to other schools at the same position. It’s one thing to lose a coordinator to a head coaching job but another to lose a coordinator to taking coordinator position at another school.

Plus with Fickell as you stated Ryan Day isn’t going anywhere and Harbaugh just signed that big extension.

Darkhorses: Scott Satterfield and Neal Brown who would gladly take it but much lower on the list.

Hubbs and VQ either have no idea because they are out at the moment of close contacts in the AD or they are running interference and misdirection for the real hire.
Well they had absolutely no clue about the AD hire so I wouldn’t bank on their info very much for this coaching hire

Im switching back and forth. Another thing on Fleck though, Plowman is from B10 country, It was mentioned as Scott Frost being a big influence on the White hire. What if he has good things to say about Fleck as well? Fickell fits the midwest area.

I'm not sure about Fickell, Sure he's been great there- but Butch Jones had two 10-3 seasons. I will say Fickell has done better than Tubberville did.

I'm way too dumb to understand what you just wrote.
I got this from Google, cause Google is my friend.:D. But FU MONEY really means that this person has so freaking much money that he or she can can maintain their current lifestyle indefinitely with no job or other income needed. In other words, filthy rich.
