Why not PJ Fleck or long shot Chris Peterson

Before we pulled White out of our big orange hat, I'd have said those names were pipe dreams, but now I think we have much more clout when approaching coaches of this caliber. Not saying it's a sure thing, but our talent pool has grown a great deal since hiring White. You put White and Manning into play with a coaching candidate and I think we stand a pretty good chance. Napier, Campbell, Fickell...I think would all be possible now.

White won’t just pull the bunny out of a hat. We would have been hard pressed to do better at hiring an AD, but he is mortal and makes mistakes. My opinion is Heuple (spelling?) was a mistake. However his hit rate is higher than his miss rate so there is reason for optimism.

How was Heupel a mistake? He's freaking 28-8 at UCF. Our mistake was nowhere near that level of mistake.

Austin Prixe stated he was told it will be a sitting HC. I'd love Peterson, grand slam hire, but if what he is saying is true then he doesn't seem to be an option. Way Hubbs/Price operate it basically means a target has already been found.

Rather believe Basilio than Hubbs, Hubbs is in love with himself! He’s probably trolling this page as we speak

Why he’s a proven winner at a power 5 school unlike Butchy!! He backs his up!

The other coaches in the B1G hate him and have no respect for him and his act. That’s a bad sign. The funniest example of this was the Minnesota Iowa game this year. Minny was down 35-0 with 20 seconds to go. It was 2nd and goal and Fleck took a timeout. Iowa’s coach was so pissed at that pointless time out that he took all 3 of his in a row. When asked about it after the game Ferentz said something like “it appeared Fleck need some extra time to find a good play and he only had the 1 timeout so I went ahead and called all of mine to give him all the time he needed.”

Why not go after one of these two, Fleck has proven twice that he can win with little to no talent and has taken Minnesota from bottom to upper in less than 5 years, did same at Western Michigan, Peterson a long shot but can do wonders with our talent, what’s y’all’s thoughts? Any better options not named, Malzahn, Kiffin, Chadwell, or Freeze?
Peterson is retired and won't be coming out of it.

Haha that's hilarious. Love it. Hard pass on Fleck

True my main point is this is the kinda hire, somebody that can win at a power 5 school, not looking at personality, looking at coaching less talent, they did regress a lot this year tho

PJ was a hot name........”was.”

He has had 2 good seasons......that’s it.
He has had 3 bad seasons.
He has had 3 decent seasons.

He isn’t the answer.
There are much better options.

Nah, he's not like that at all. Though it seems there has been a change of guard and Basilio is in with the new regime. He has been on point lately. But Hubbs is a class act.
Basilio has been on point since before all this happened, I’m just not on the Hubbs train just yet

Not saying he’s the answering just saying he worth the look, build less talent into a winning program, he’s definitely better than cornbread, butch and Dooley combine tho

He’s only coach 3 years and the he still have some of Frost players on the roster, won’t be proven until after year 4 and he is already showing a down slide
yeah, ok. Fox called and said you can take Urban's spot on the football panel with these knowledge bombs you're dropping.

Basilio's cred has improved for sure. Hubbs is close to the A department. He is a VFL too.. He doesn't go after the program. We need guys like that around.

Know a guy whose son is a D1 prospect that is close to Hubbs. Brent offered to help them navigate it, know who is FOS and not. Says he is a genuinely good dude.

He is certainly better than what Tennessee has had......however I wouldn’t say he built anything at either school.

He surely had that one great season at Western......but other than that he didn’t do any better than what they had been doing.

His 4 years at Western
13-1
8-5
8-5
1-11

Before he got there
4-8
7-6
6-6
5-7
9-4

At Minnesota
3-5
11-2
7-6
5-7

Before he got there
9-4
6-7
8-5
8-5

He could certainly become a great coach at Minnesota......however because of the inconsistency......we really need to see more of “the build” first.

There are just better options right now.

Also Chris could have went almost anywhere he wanted......he chose to retire.

He’s not coming out of retirement.....to take on this mess.

If one was simply going to try for one of those home run hires and offer a bunch of cash......it wouldn’t be him today (should have been years ago).

If you look at it like that, there’s really no coach other than Riley, Saban, Brian Kelly, Ryan Day, Smart, Mullen

How so?

I’m saying PJ got his opportunity and so far it hasn’t been “amazing” yet.

Just my opinion, but all of these make more sense.......right now. You couldn’t land all of them.....but you only want 1.

Fickell
Napier
Chadwell
Bieniemy
Gus
Freeze
Herman
