The Atlanta Braves

Can someone explain to me the fascination some of our fanbase has in Jerrod Mayo as HC?

I admit I haven't followed him but a quick search he's been coaching linebackers in the NFL for a couple of years? How does that make him have the credentials to be a top candidate for a job like Tennessee?

If he wasn't a Tennessee player/grad would he still be someone you'd want?

He’s incredibly respected by players. Big culture guy and amazing leader. Already getting interviews for NFL HC jobs.

Still what credentials does he have that you hand him the keys to the castle?

If he played college ball at Alabama or OSU, Clemson would people still say hire him?

If Jamey Chadwell was from Kentucky half the people would be freaking out that he’s being mentioned as a candidate.

Sure the VFL thing is a connection. And Jerod basically begged for the job today on a podcast. But he’s incredibly respected. He’s not my first choice for sure. But if some of the other options don’t pan out I’m fine giving him a shot. Especially with how bad this job looks (pre Danny White).
