Without having an AD it’s hard to say for sure, but right now I believe it’s Steele or Chadwell and if Steele is allowed to hire 3 coaches this weekend then that tells you all you need to know

I think they know who they're targeting as HC even without an AD hire. Now, who the AD ends up being may help determine who we have a better chance with to hire as HC, but I think the politicking going on behind the scenes by money people is probably steering the AD search towards the HC they want. I think BOB is probably the main target given his NFL Background along with Peyton being involved. If they can't get him its going to fall to Steele.

Steele or Chadwell either one and I think we will certainly be right back where we are in 3 years, except even in a worse position. I'd take Chadwell over Steele but he ain't ready for this job. He may end up being a superstar, but theres no way to know that right now and we are not in a position to take a chance on that. They have to absolutely exhaust several possibilities before settling on Chadwell for me to be happy. And even then I won't be, it'll just be a wait and see.

Something to think about as it relates to the AD and coaching searches (and @Stoerner Fumbles kind of mentioned it) is that we don't know who Plowman and/or Boyd know that could connect to an AD candidate and make this job appealing. Furthermore, we don't know who Plowman/Boyd/the AD have connections with that would make the coaching job appealing.

We might hire Belichick's best friends kid for the AD job and then all of a sudden Belichick is interested.

Probably not, but let's watch it all play out.

I still disagree. You’re reading wayyyyy too much into the chancellor. Once the AD is hired he gets to pick his coach and go to work. The chancellor was only involved because Pruitt was evil Forrest Gump

If we want to be back on the coaching search again in potentially 2-3 years, then hire Bill O'Brien. It's no secret that BOB wants to be back in the NFL. If he has even remote success pulling us out of this dumpster fire, he'll parlay that into an NFL coaching gig and leave. Please do not get BOB.

And if he does that...we'd be in a much better position to land a great coach than we are right now. I would be totally fine with it, because not even Nick Saban is winning 10 games the next 2 years with this roster. If BOB is a bridge hire to get us to relevancy again, let's go.
