This is how you get back to relevance. Use your FU money to get Stoops or Campbell or the like. Quit screwing around and hoping the fans don’t care that you hired another dud. Take the checkbook and force a bigtime coach to say yes. And if those guys won’t budge you swallow your pride and go get Kiffin. Those are the only options to become great again. Period.

If they somehow hired stoops the buildup to the 3rd Saturday in October will be really good.

Correct. Kiffin got left with Pete Carroll's mess at USC. He did well with the "store bought" players but floundered when the sanctions kicked in.

If he came to UT, facing sanctions, I'd suggest looking at his last full year at USC where recruiting suffered and he got fired the next year.

He had massive sanctions. He had no depth. He is THE best offensive mind in college football. He took Bama to the brink this year in his FIRST season at OLE MISS. That is a trash program that has 3 good seasons since Archie Manning graduated. They freaking blow.

Why would he want this job? Because TN is an elite program with elite EVERYTHING except HC. It is easier to recruit to TN. MUCH easier.

Stop being hard headed. Just because USC let him go many years ago because he couldn't maintain a top 5 team while having massive losses in scholarships does not mean he is a bad coach. Rick Barnes was fired and look what he has done here. But based on your takes, we should never have hired him to begin with because Texas fired him... sometimes firing somebody is a mistake or for other reasons besides ability to do their job.

Same...I am mad at all of them, but I am angriest at those that took advantage of a bad situation to regain power. They are slimy backstabbing traitors that deserve to have their reputations ruined just as Pruitts and Fulmer are.


I will not be a hypocrite and hate Pruitt and Neids and all the rest involved for doing exactly what I thought they were doing to compete with Bama and Georgia and Florida for talent. I am not shocked at them, I am shocked at Plowman and Boyd for throwing back the curtain for the whole world to see.

I honestly think you're looking at this from the wrong angle. I don't think money was sitting around looking for an angle, I think this program under Pruitt and Fulmer were very sloppy and liberal with handing money out.

At a time when everyone else, at every level was being pinched, and let go in some cases, we have a program throwing money around. That built resentment and eventually wine staffers for fed up and went to administration. Said why aren't you paying me? Everyone else is paid.

A few more talk to each other and go back to admin with concerns again. Admin realizes this is getting out of hand and compliance and Plowman are brought in. At that point I think discussions at higher levels take place, this is where I think money starts to get involved.

This was a case of a dumb head coach thinking he could do what he's seen done elsewhere. Only he forgot to take care of the machine, he said FU to too many people, treated too many people like crap at the wrong time. Fulmer is every but as much to blame here. He tried to do to much in too short a time with the wrong guy at the helm.

Our admin was doing what they were obligated to do. They were put in a situation where they had compliance and human resource issues that could have led to lawsuits and NCAA issues had they not acted and allowed the whistleblowers to talk outside of her office before they had a chance to get in front of it. At least that was their feeling, right or wrong they did what they felt they were obligated to do.

The big names we are losing to the transfer portal were all Neids croots. Interesting those are the ones leaving. The only reason to jump ship is because you're butt hurt about losing your coach (makes sense)... OR your gravy train just ended.

Why on earth would you transfer when you have a guaranteed starting spot on an SEC school? That doesn't make sense unless something else is tied to one of those coaches that just got fired.

I just don’t understand it. The man had the most talent in his conference and lost 4.5 games per year. It’s like Bama losing 4.5 games per year. Or hell, even UGA. You wouldn’t consider those good coaches if they lost 4.5 games per season
