All I know is if these big money families like Haslam etc. want to be seen as the Kings of Tennessee and they bring Kiffin or Freeze here the fans will see them as just that.

The Haslams aren't as involved as everyone believes. Their focus is elsewhere. Unless something had changed.

I agree Atlanta VOL is not some nefarious Mastermind, but many need to face the fact that if he were remotely legit he would not still be posting here. By his own admission he is a booster who has been personally involved in the recruitment of many of the various individuals now reportedly under scrutiny (Mims, Gray, Washington, etc.) and would have gotten a cease and desist letter from the school a long time ago, not to mention his own lawyers would have read him the riot act even before that. If he is nonetheless who he has represented himself to be and is still in here running his mouth he's dumber than Pruitt ever thought about being.

Who do you think makes the hire? The boosters, a search firm or Boyd and Plowman? Because we all know our boosters couldn’t pick a good coach if he was right in front of them. As far as Boyd and Plowman goes, I’m not even sure if they are qualified to do their jobs after what I saw at the press conference yesterday.

I had no problem with the press conference. I believe those two are going to make good decisions regarding the football program.

Well getting rid of Pruitt and Fulmer is a good thing and will help turn the program quicker than kicking the can down the road. In the unlikely event AV had a role in it I applaud his efforts and would give him an “Attaboy” if I ever personally met him.

There really is only two ways to look at AV with this.

1) you support the coup because you feel it was necessary and we are better off because of it. When AV told us on Christmas Eve what was going to happen many of you argued just that. He said

and that really is the choice to make here. Was it worth it? If you side with AV then yes yesterday was a dream come true and it was all worth it. But the defending AV by saying he didn’t play in role in this is plain ass wrong

2) You can say this ncaa mess is ,as I said in response to AV on Christmas Eve, catastrophic to this program and yesterday was a dark sad day and those that played a role in this really have done great danger to our program

A lot of people are saying that Steele is going to be promoted to full time head coach. What I don’t get about that theory is obviously Steele was hired by Fulmer, most likely. We have no idea what footballs punishment is. If its a 1 year bowl ban and 10 or so scholarships over 3 or 4 years, I'm not trading a potiental final 4 for a music city bowl. I already missed out on a potiental final 4 with Dayton when the tourny was cancelled last year.

No. A person close to a player complained to someone who works for Plowman that some players "Got Theirs" meaning improper benefits and quit giving a crap , going through the motions etc.

I think people need to realize that Pruitt made a lot of enemies on campus, it could have been anyone. Hell, he made enemies in his own football complex ( players/ coaches/ support staff ). The guy was/ is a moron and has no business being in a CEO position. Fulmer messed with the wrong group of people in 2017 when him and Anderson pulled their little coup and yesterday the chickens came home to roost on Fulmer. The amount of meddling Fulmer did in the program the last 3 years is extremely troubling and he's far from innocent in all of this.

Then the people making the hire are idiots. Freeze has a checkered past yes...he’s also paid for those sins. He’s won everywhere he’s been. At the end of the day, I think I speak for most fans when I say the most important thing that the head coach at UT has to do is win. Nobody cares if he’s a choir boy if we’re winning.

Nooo way. One of my good friends from Ohio was genuinely distraught over that. I had Dayton winning it all. They will probably never assemble a team like that again unfortunately.

This year was a lot like Butch in 2016. Much like Tennessee against a down SEC East that year, with a senior QB, Texas had the most talent in a down Big 12, including a rebuilding year for OU, had a senior QB, and still managed to lose 3 games in conference. Combined with all the off the field stuff, the BMD's decided to move on.

That's consistent with what Austin Pope told Ubben in his "exit interview." Not anything about benefits, but that large numbers of players are just happy to run through the T or get their picture made on the field after getting their eyes beaten in by Alabama. Winning is incidental to them - that's cool if they win, but also don't get broken up over a loss.
