As I told the other guy that commented on my post, there’s no one who wants Freeze at UT more than me. I would even say his experiences at Ole Miss make him a perfect fit for what we’re about to go through.

I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe the SEC would be excited to see Tennessee devolve into further chaos and irrelevancy because the money keeps on flowing either way. I do not think Neyland Stadium at 60% capacity shows well on that new tv contract, and I definitely believe the league office cares if Tennessee is about to march further into the wilderness.

What I know for sure is that you would like for that to happen.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

The SEC is flush with cash, championships, and the national reputation of being the best league in all of collegiate athletics. If Tennessee wants to join in, I'm sure they'd be happy about it. If Tennessee wants to not be very competitive, they're ok with that too.

We aren't getting Freeze. Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love to have him here at UT. However, watching that press conference and how they constantly re-iterated integrity, convinces me of that. Furthermore, I sincerely doubt that our AD will hire a coach that was accused of the similar things as to what Pruitt has been accused of.

The 2nd best option to Hugh Freeze, IMO, is Matt Campbell. He has taken an obscure program and brought them to a point where they were competing for the Big 12. This is who fans should be clamoring as there is a much higher probability of us actually going after him than Freeze.

You’re right, we disagree. I think the SEC cares if UT is relevant because it’s good business. Based on your dopey logic Apple, Tesla, and Amazon should just rest on their laurels because the money is good, now.

Any sane businessman knows you are always trying to improve your product and maximize your revenue streams. Now does that mean he would have the same concern for Vandy, Miss St., or Arkansas? Of course not. But let’s not pretend Tennessee is in any way in that boat from a capability to win at a national level standpoint.

First, I don't think Tennessee will select Freeze.

But, if we did, I find it odd that the SEC commissioner would veto Freeze given that they allowed Calipari to coach Kentucky after having final 4 appearances vacated at 2 different schools. When did the SEC ever allow that before? And they allowed Pearl back in the SEC after a Show Cause. Mullen is still coaching Florida with a Show Cause.

The SEC cares about eyeballs and Benjamin.

Tennessee has been in chaos and....... there's still eyeballs and Benjamin and a brand new contract. 60% full in Neyland in 2024? Guess what, ESPN is STILL paying the SEC until 2034. It's 10yr contract already on the books.

What'll happen in 2033? I dunno. That's 12 years from now and you don't either and THAT'S when the next contract negotiations will finalize.

Get outta here with the SEC contract crap. It's done, it's signed, it's a 10 year deal from 2024.

As the league has never been more successful or profitable, perhaps the league has determined that a successful business model includes Tennessee being bad.

The worse Tennessee gets, the better the league does.

Maybe that's how they are choosing to improve their product and maximize their revenue stream.
