I don't think we can have a year-long interim, that will kill our chance at making hay with the 2022 class of in-state talent. Steele is a great recruiter, but he can't do it as an interim, holding a place for an unknown, especially with offensive players. I will trust that @Atlanta VOL and his brethren have been working behind the scenes to get an offensive mind or a CEO-type lined up who will work with Steele.

Plowman has set the bar high for our ethical standards, so unfortunately it looks like Freeze and Kiffin are out. I really hope it is not Adam Gase. because he seems like he'd be a terrible fit here, maybe @HankHill disagrees. If Plowman talks to the AD at Texas, she probably won't want Tom Herman around, even though his failings weren't NCAA-related. Napier may be too set on bringing in all of his own coaches, including on defense, which may be a deal breaker for him. Matt Campbell doesn't seem like he is going anywhere any time soon no matter how much you offer him.

That leaves Chadwell, O'Brien, Bill Clark, and Fleck, possibly Marrone, although that looks less likely without Fulmer around. Anyone in the pros I'm missing? Greg Roman? The more I think about it, Fleck may be the best option if he would have any interest whatsoever.

We aren’t at a bad time to hire a coach. Every other school has already made their move, and I doubt Sark would have entertained us anyway. Harsin probably wouldn’t have been a factor. Plus, ESD has actually made the traditional hiring window a really bad window to hire in. Better to give a new coach 10-11 months to build relationships than 10-11 days.

I will not watch a game if we hired Gase.

It’s also not going to happen. He will be OC in Seattle or Philly.

Here’s a little hank nugget.... if Seattle hires him as OC... draft Tyler Lockett first over all in fantasy. No one loves a slot WR like Gase does.

When Kiffin left for USC west ...They were hit by ncaa and lost scholarships...Kiffin didn't do very well I believe because of that situation.... that being said, TN will probably lose some scholarships as well, making it difficult to come right in and win big... How many GOOD coaches will want to coach here( for next few years).. So just sayin if we have GOOD coaches showing interest....(AKA..KIFFIN )regardless of past bitterness university better vet the possibility.....

After an extensive investigation it was determined the pie pan contained quiche. At this point I would like to apologize for the suggestion that pie was at all involved in the incident. I assure you no pie was wasted In This household.
