Go ahead and count me as out on Plownerd. To borrow VN’s favorite phrase, gonna be tough to “Close the gap” if you aren’t willing to bend the rules.
I'm sure we are still going to do regular things re: recruiting. What else can she publicly say? As chancellor, she has to stand up for integrity. We are still going to have bag men though just like every other program. @Atlanta VOL I do wonder the implications going forward

Lol the NCAA doesn’t give the death penalty anymore.

Literally have bball coaches on tape talking about paying kids and they’re still employed. And within this conference. And at programs who aren’t bball powerhouses.
Ok, read what you wrote and realize who we are. We are TN. Our luck has been AWFUL

What constitutes better days? If we are stuck with an interim or another mediocre or bridge hire I don’t see how that is any better. I mean sure it will be nice to have e someone who sounds like he might’ve passed freshman English but other than that what’s your vision of better? Give us something more solid here.
In my mind better days are better than 3-7. I think even a new coach and lots of new players can do that with our schedule.

Hate it for guys like Felton and Neids who look for the chance in this profession and have to do the dirty work of the head coach but then when things happen the HC financially will still be ok with amount of money he has made in career but the other two likely are never seen again and find a new profession. Pruitt can always go to NFL

Per Basilio the leadership at UT has improved and they have been handling this behind the scenes for a while now. Hopefully Plowman lives up to the name and plows through anything in the way of a solid hire.

I would hope Peyton stays in the background if he's involved in this search. His name is as good as it gets with regard to UT. If his name is attached to the next head coach and that coach fails, it's a no win situation for him. People will turn on him like the plague. If you don't believe me, just look at what's being said about Fulmer right now. Peyton will stay in the shadows if he has any sense.

Peyton's probably writing a check and when getting a "yes or no" option on the candidate. I doubt he wants much more involvement than that, he may call to pitch the job to guys though. But I doubt he's doing much more, I mean why would he?
