First question. Does anyone think Bailey starts this year? I would have said he was a lock to start before Hooker came aboard. Now I am not so sure. I have read on here that Chaney isn’t the biggest fan of Bailey. Whether that’s true or not is up for debate. But let’s say Hooker wins the job. That brings up my last question.

Can Bailey red shirt? I am pretty sure he still can. But would he? Would he sit a year to improve given the fact of last years fiasco? I don’t know. He might. What are you guys thoughts?

Chaney isn't a fan of him but he was here when Bailey was recruited and brought him in?? Typical. Chaney is the one who should be held accountable for our poor offense last year rather than Pruitt.

I was not super impressed with Hooker's highlight vid, and he wasnt very good in their losses. I think HB has a much higher ceiling, than Hooker. Hooker is good enough to have a winning season, at some point. But not much more.

Bailey is not scared of competition. He will be fine. I don't know where the rumor that Chaney doesn't like Bailey got started. I have never heard Chaney say anything bad about Bailey. Chaney was excited to have Bailey coming to Knoxville.

I'll tell you I also saw that he had alot of 1 and 2 receiver routes with a dump down. The dump down is usually there for him, and wide open, because of his run threat. But, not seeing alot of 4-5 receiver plays makes me think they kept it simple for him. You'll not have to do that with HB. He showed in his freshman year that he can check as many routes as you put into the pattern. Yet still has just enough mobility to get the job done. He does need to adjust his internal clock, and get rid of the football.

I think a lot of y’all haven’t watched tech play. Hooker is amazing, the only reason he transferred is because Burmister is going to be the best QB in the acc next year. Bailey belongs at Georgia or Alabama. Chaney wants a mobile QB. A playmaker.

If Hooker wins the job, I would expect to see HB stay and be the backup.

However, if he sees Salter as backup, I expect he will transfer.

Given his high school numbers and the names bantered about when talking about those numbers, he would have started at any and all Power 5 programs last year except Bama, Clemson, and Ohio State.

If Bailey doesent get the start I’ll be shocked because what we think we know about Pruitt and QB won’t be true.

So this Burmister is gone be better than DJ at Clemson? Doubtful.

Hooker was VTs best option at QB. But, he is inconsistent - sometimes he looks like Dobbs and other times he is simply ineffective.

I am glad we have Hooker but I think Bailey will be our QB next year. The whole offense seems to operate more effectively with Bailey at QB.

I know Salter is highly regarded, but I don’t see Pruitt putting his fate in the hands of a freshman.
