Democrats plan to introduce articles of impeachment as early as Monday

WALSH: If Trump Is Guilty Of ‘Incitement’ Then So Are Half The Democrats In Congress

Nancy-Pelosi.jpg

Democrats in Congress, along with a few Republicans, have officially impeached President Trump for the second time. Throughout America’s entire nearly 250-year history, Congress had only impeached a president twice. In the span of just over a year, under one president, that number has been doubled.

But the bigger issue is that the grounds for this move are dubious at best. The articles of impeachment charge Trump with, among other things, “incitement of insurrection.” He is accused of inciting a mob of extremists to storm the Capitol and wreak all of that havoc we witnessed last week. Trump’s defense is that he specifically told the crowd to march and protest peacefully. A quick look at a transcript of his remarks last Wednesday back him up on this score (emphasis mine):
We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard. Today we will see whether Republicans stand strong for integrity of our elections, but whether or not they stand strong for our country, our country.
In fact, Democrats have, especially recently, given us examples of what incitement sounds like when it is direct and explicit. Explicit incitement sounds like Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley encouraging more “unrest in the streets” while the BLM riots were raging. It sounds like a Democrat state Senator in Michigan a few weeks ago calling on “soldiers” to find Trump supporters and “make them pay.” It sounds like Maxine Waters telling her supporters to seek out Trump administration officials, “form a crowd,” and let them know that they “aren’t welcome anywhere.” As it happens, all of these people now favor impeaching Trump for doing what they themselves are guilty of doing.

If the argument is that incitement doesn’t have to be explicit, then Democrats are all the more indicted by their own words and actions. Any Democrat who publicly romanticized BLM rioting as a fight for “social justice” has been guilty of “incitement” at least on the same level as Trump. Same goes for any Democrat who amplified the lie that racist cops are hunting and killing people across the country. Indeed, if they are not responsible for a crowd in Minneapolis burning down a police station after they told the crowd that racist cops are out murdering black men, then Trump is not responsible for what happened on Wednesday. There is no getting around this. You cannot have it both ways.

Yeah, well, if you don't believe Trump incited that group, I've got a bridge to sell you...

As the article admits:

"...Nancy Pelosi and others are conveniently skipping over that line and focusing instead on Trump’s exhortation to the crowd that they must “fight like Hell” or else “you’re not going to have a country anymore.” Right after saying that, he told everyone to “walk down Pennsylvania Avenue” and “give [Republicans] the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.”

First of all, this is the typical deflection that had caused bad politics.

Drumpf asked to be the President of The United States. He must act like the president and be held accountable for his actions. No evidence of mass scale voter fraud, anywhere. Yet, at the very least says to interrupt a federal election. He is responsible for people storming the Capitol. Did he specifically say to kill people? Not in the exact words but to not take the context here is tone deaf.

They left out the part where he said peacefully. I posted a link to the whole transcript earlier which made it clear he was only saying to march and demonstrate. You are impeaching Trump, not a small subset of his followers that rioted after watching a whole Summer of riots that were promoted and condoned.

So if you someone tells you to f*** OFF and EAT SH*T and during the same conversation says I LOVE YOU, you're reaction to this conversation is what, Einstein? ( judging by your posts, I'm going with you think that person really loves you)

Anyone with one iota of common sense recognizes Trump incited the mob to violence before, during and after his speech.

And oh BTW, those physically around Trump during the violent insurrection have confirmed he was HAPPY about it.

"Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) said Friday that he heard from senior White House officials that President Trump was "delighted" to hear that his supporters were breaking into the Capitol building in a riot Wednesday that turned deadly.

"As this was unfolding on television, Donald Trump was walking around the White House confused about why other people on his team weren't as excited as he was as you had rioters pushing against Capitol Police trying to get into the building," Sasse told conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt in an interview. "That was happening. He was delighted."

"I'm sure you've also had conversations with other senior White House officials, as I have," Sasse told Hewitt."

Per Liz Cheney the #3 Republican in the House:

“The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President. The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not.”

House Democrats Temporarily Changed Rules to Allow President to Be Called a Racist

Democrats called President Donald Trump a racist several times during the House debate on impeachment Wednesday, taking advantage of a temporary rule change they passed earlier this week.

Newly-sworn-in Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), for example, called Trump the “white supremacist-in-chief”:

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) also chimed in, calling Trump the “racist-in-chief.”

Normally, such language is prohibited by House rules. But House Democrats passed a temporary rule change on Tuesday that applies to debate on H. Res. 21 and H. Res. 24. The former urged Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump (which he declined to do); the latter is the article of impeachment against President Trump.

The rule change “Provides that the prohibition against personality in debate with respect to references to the President shall not apply during consideration of H. Res. 21 or any special order of business providing for the consideration of H. Res. 24.”

Biden was admittedly not my first choice as I voted for Mayor Pete in the primary, but ideologically I have no issues w/ Biden's platform and agenda. And anyone is better than Trump. Another 4 years of him could have led to complete chaos in this country, if we're not already there.
Do you agree Dems had a hand in that chaos as well?

There is a reason Biden picked Ho as VP....makes him impeachment proof. Go for it..Then you wanna impeach Ho.. we got Pelosi on stand by for at least 2 years. Political genius. as they know the retribution and storm is coming.

Nope. No retribution coming. No storm either.

Just alot of handwringing by unhinged racists and radical right conspiracy theorists. Maybe if we're lucky, a few of these meat bags will toss themselves into the hopper in the next week or two to no avail.

Otherwise, business as usual.

They don’t need to heal and unify with you people. F that. You all impeached this man twice over nothing. Spent 3.5 years investigating a fake Russia hoax. Tried to pin an overblown virus 100% on him. Used said overblown virus to allow mail in cheating. Every dem can take unity and shove it.
And last but not least, got him out of office. That’s the bottom line and “trumps” everything else. You know why? Cause Mama said it beez that way sometimes.

And it took cheating but you libs are good with that. Impeachment of your dementia hero should start right away

The dems are just trying to prevent Trump from being able to run in 2024.....

That’s all it is. After 2 years they know how f***ed we’ll be as they push their bs and how many seats they’ll lose in midterms. After 4 years Trump will either win in a landslide or they’ll make their cheating so blatant they won’t be able to cover this time.
