Democrats plan to introduce articles of impeachment as early as Monday

I've been accused of worse.

The R's I know are disgusted by what theyre seeing and blame Trump. They had a moment of clarity watching Trump setting up Pence to fail and become the scapegoat.
Well, thanks for your anecdotal testimony. The ones know are posting Pence and 30 pieces of silver memes.

The turtle is starting to peek out from under his shell and is slowly discovering that he doesn't have to grab his ankles for the fat man anymore.
He seemed shaken last Wednesday (as any sane person would be) and what value is there for him to perpetuate Trump's nonsense anymore?

I'm sure there's a hearty cross section of his base that intersects with trumps. Trump gave everyone on the right that hated him (of which there were many) political cover to break with him, the smart ones are making hay.

Liz Cheney, the top ranking Republican woman and the #3 Republican overall in the House, just announced she will support Impeachment. Extremely conservative representative and it is a big announcement. Said it is a “vote of conscience”.

Democrats need to cool it with impeachment until after the inauguration.
It’s not going to be completed until after the inauguration. Senate not even due back till Jan 19 unless McConnell calls them back which I doubt he’ll do.

If you look at my posts, I’ve not condoned or justified anything about the actions of those that stormed the Capitol..... I’ve questioned their intelligence and sanity..... but what happened wasn’t because of Trump.... he didn’t tell them to invade the Capitol..... those that did did so because they’re pissed off over all the BS that’s been going on over the last 12-15 years.
The clowns that invaded with their Big Gulps in their hands were far from a coup attempt

From now on, I'll be referring to last week's idiocy as "The Styrofoam Revolution."

Yes. I'm a believer in judging historical figures by the era they lived in. Still, Jackson was the primary architect behind the genocide of thousands of Native Americans. He takes the cake.

Trump has fractured the nation and his conspiracy and insurrection attempts have endangered our democracy as we know it. He's absolutely number 2.

Also, Lincoln "starting the Civil War" is false.
Funny how you forget to mention that Jackson’s impetus for the native Americans was their insurrection and taking up arms against the US government in the war of 1812

Huge news

And thus the complete divide between Republicans and Trumpists is complete.

McConnell believes Trump committed impeachable offenses, supports Democrats' impeachment efforts: Report

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell reportedly believes that President Trump committed impeachable offenses and supports Democrats’ move to impeach him for a second time after last week’s Capitol riot.

The New York Times first reported that McConnell was pleased that House Democrats introduced an article of impeachment against Trump.

McConnell’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment.

Comments on Cable News (so, no link)

It is claimed Mitch McConnell is now in favor of a second impeachment of Trump. It was also stated he had not reached a final decision but would likely vote for it in the Senate. He is reported to now hate Trump.

Liz Cheney just announced she will vote for impeachment

Just reciting what I heard

The president of the united states said to an angry mob the we have to march on the Capitol and "we fight like hell and if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore"

Then those same people proceeded to storm the Capitol causing property damage and killing a police man in an overt attempt to stop the congress from certify the electoral college votes.

So yes, a coup attempt.

I get it, this sort of behavior has been normalized by trumpers, what happened last week is just another day in the bizzaro trump world of crazy. Many adults have chosen to reject your "oh well" attitude you've rationalized through online conspiracy's of stolen elections. The nuttiest part is that it was just a scant four years ago that these same loonies were suggesting that Obama would try a coup to stay in office.

The irony is that you've become what you accused the other side of while rationalizing that it's somehow justified to riot in the U.S. Capitol building.
So nobody have me a link to what was said that we are impeaching him over. But you gave me something to search for with the fight like hell line.

Trump’s speech that ‘incited’ Capitol violence: Full transcript

I read the whole thing. At no point was it implied to be violent or go in the capital. It was clearly a call to march to the capital. He said peacefully directly. This is weak for impeachment.

But I do see why he was banned for Twitter. He said he was going after them many times.

It's not about one speech. It's his entire post-election conduct. This would never have happened without him throwing gas on the "stolen election!" fires.

You got through the whole thing? I'm impressed.

I could literally feel my IQ dropping after each paragraph.

I'll take your word for it, despite the republican senators and congressman agreeing that his actions rose to the level of impeachment - Trumps inciting the crowd was just another excuse for a Dem's bi-partisan pile on.

He was planting the seed of a "stolen" election long before he lost and he controlled that narrative like a boss, people bit and he capitalized.

It just got out of hand.
