It's interesting to me how Marrone backers lead with his NFL record, as though that's the best evidence of his coaching ability. IMO, what he did at Syracuse is more impressive than his NFL stints. He had a couple good seasons there by their standards, and had some good players.Justin Pugh and Chandler Jones were 2*s, but do they get retroactively bumped to 5*s because they were 1st rd picks? Ryan Nassib? He had 13 guys picked that he coached or recruited in his brief time there.
The best thing you can say about his NFL career is "I have a hunch he's a good coach - he just couldn't show it because Coughlin was an idiot with the roster."
