No. I've been saying for a while that Pruitt wants to bring in another defensive guy. And UT is bringing in Steele because it's an opportunity to pick up an experienced defensive guy who knows UT and has skills UT can use. Pruitt likes Steele. Fulmer likes Steele. Steele likes UT. It works out all around.

What I'm NOT saying is that bringing in Steele means UT is keeping or not keeping Pruitt. One doesn't lead directly to the other.

So lay it out there.

Are they blocking just Freeze or is it a play on words?

How do you think players find new schools so quickly after they hit the portal? Players know which school their going too before transferring.
You hit the portal and within 48 hours you will have offer to schools. Players know what they are looking for and where they want to go. That is completely different than saying a school is attempting to poach a current player.

History suggests otherwise. Second in league history from a winning standpoint. We’re big dogs and we need to act like it. Enough of this defeatist mindset.
Does it?

Tennessee had its most of its success in three eras:
1: Pre-Bear Bryant era Alabama
3: Mid 60s until the late 70s. Bryant was dominant at Alabama, but Georgia and Florida were still very much in "sleeping giant" mode as the changes in demographics that are in place today had not taken place yet.
2: The 1990s, when Alabama was on probation and frequently terrible, and Georgia struggled to find a coach after Dooley. Florida was great, and they got the better of us, but Florida (or any one school) alone isn't enough to block us.

I agree with you that Tennessee is the second-most successful SEC program from 1932-present. However, demographic trends over the last 20 years or so do not favor us. They have favored our rivals, mostly Georgia and Florida.

There are 3 things that need to happen for Tennessee, but unfortunately 2 of them are outside of our control. #1 is to get more competent administration. That's in our control. #2 is the continued boom in the Nashville area/middle Tennessee, although if we continue to suck those recruits will get poached by other programs (like Clemson). #3 is for Alabama/Georgia/Florida to throttle back as programs.

You think they’ll announce it before or after a decision is made on Pruitt?

Sorry I haven't fully been able to keep to my no post oath until this thing is settled but we are close now boys. A couple posts I couldn't resist making. One last one.
