They can afford it. And will keep doing it as long as tickets are sold. Chadwells offense would sell tickets. It’s innovative and different.
No it wouldnt.

It will resonate with die hard Tennessee fans. It is placation. If this is the hire it is insulting to this program. I have contended (not that my opinion matters), on here for months that we should support players and program. Folks beating war drum, fairly or not, to not give money to UT.

I think that's immature in many respects. However, I can tell you the few UTAD and donors I know are already apathetic.

Y’all don’t understand the timing. Fulmer has to wait for the semester to start and the get the first week or so of classes done so players will be less likely to transfer and have the opportunity to at least meet a new coach.... if he concluded this a week ago then there would be lots of players leave in time to enroll in a new school for Spring semester
Makes sense.

He's never been around a place like this before, UT has 24/7/365 coverage and that's more than a lot of NFL teams. The praise that comes with this job when things are good is near heaven but when things are bad you'd probably rather go to hell and face the devil. I don't think he could handle it, JMO
But you guys want thin skinned freeze. Lol

That Oregon team had 449 yards of offense and just lost by three in the national championship game.
Did you happen to notice the difference in how much they were scoring before that game? My point was not the overall Auburn defense in the game, it is that one bull strong guy at NT almost singlehandedly stopped the Oregon offense at key moments in the game.

Nick Fairley was a wrecking ball that year.

none of us know. we're speaking in hyptheticals. it's called conjecture.

my point is that this is/will he the singular most important hire for Tennessee in 20 years when that time comes. they cannot afford to buy from the bargain bin.
That’s what UT does unfortunately. I agree it’s a big hire and we need to go big, but we all know what this administration will do...

I don’t think that’s expected with the schedule he played. I’ve seen a lot of “mid major” football and it’s often times more offensive than the power 5
Sometimes that is true..... here is what I come up with comparing some of the average yards per play..... Ohio state 7.5, FAU 2017 6.8, CC 6.7, liberty 6.5, Louisiana- Laf 6.3, FAU 2019 6.0...... I’m not 100% sold him but it still seems pretty impressive.

Chadwell is Coach of the Year...while he may be cheaper than others, he is not just a "Bargain bin hire"

I hope that we would hire him based on his high potential ceiling, not his affordability. I'd rather keep rolling the dice on great mid tier up and comers till we find one that can do the job..than just go after boring CFB and NFL factory rejects..I don't think any of those guys have the energy or gravitas to fix this mess.

Let be honest and look at their schedule. If this is an out scheme over achieve the oppositions Talent offense the BYU game is the one to see that in. The bottom line is that was their worse game of the season where there weren’t balanced. You can say they take what the defense gives them but in this case the defense gave them their worse performance of the year.

they won the game with great defense

It was their worst offense but they still out schemed them. 366 yards won them the game. The total yards were 366 to 405 (close to even) while Coastal Carolina was at a distinct talent disadvantage. Being even after having a talent disparity points to a coaching/scheme advantage. How does that help your point?

No doubt. I think it’s a good debate on what’s more better on a resume, a successor power 5 coordinator or head coaching experience at his level.

it’s hard to argue against the Head coaching experience with what’s going on right now but none the less I think it’s a good debate
If we hire him, we get to see who is correct :)

Good info

I can get excited about him but he’s last on my realistic list right now
