Good read.

Didn’t realize that at the beginning of the year CCU was picked to be dead last in their division by other coaches, and instead went 11-1. Is it lightning in a bottle? Maybe... but I don’t care what level you coach at, to make the run he did this year it takes great coaching.

In an ideal situation we would love to see if he can replicate his success at a power 5 job, but I get why we may be interested.

I hear what you are saying, but we have a TN guy that is our athletic director now. How is that working out. The fact is that no matter who we end up hiring (assuming JP is gone) he had better be successful, or he will be out the door too. Doesn't matter if he is a TN guy or not, and I personally would love to see a TN guy succeed and I love our team, but we are Tennessee fans and we will eat our own if they don't turn this program around.

My point is that his background would make a lot of fans give him a chance if he was the new guy. I have no doubt we would turn on him if it didn’t work. But his background would give a lot of fans a lot of hope at the beginning.

For the X’s and O’s experts, how does Chadwells offense differ from Malzhans, who everyone says doesn’t work anymore?

Seems like they both have lots of eye Candy pre snap with motion and both have some option foundation. Auburn also typically brings in a lot of the niche scat backs to run horizontally, although they can mix in power.

There are videos posted online. One short one was posted a few pages back on Chadwell's. They are not alike. Mahlzah's is gap scheme with eye candy. Chadwell's is triple option/RPO. Mahlzahn's uses standard spacing and o-line profiles. Chadwell's uses wide spacing and mobile O-linemen using angles in zone and man. The same part is they have been designed run first. Chadwell's appears to be a better RPO passing scheme since he has more than 6 total plays in his playbook. Mahlzah's was totally dependent on hurry up for success. Chadwell's can go fast or not.
