I’ve posted 6+ plus videos here of his offense. I realize that he doesn’t just do one thing. He does several styles (3) well. So yeah, I’m good with Chadwell Because he could also get big boy Ballers to play for him. I’m mean, it is the SEC right?Go back a few pages and watch the CC offense breakdown, UGA DLINE would eat that up in the backfield. I’m all for a younger coach with some swag but unless he has a diff scheme for big boy ball he’s not the answer.
What all has been said?More info:
The guy that @Ron Swanson quoted tonight started a thread Jan 1 we were hiring Jim Chaney. It was announced Jan 8. He also started a thread dec 31 after the outback bowl a few years back about Jancek leaving. It was announced Jan 6
Gonna get this out of my mind after a lot of time to mull it over and really thinking about the current situation and how UT/boosters have historically responded. I realize Boyd and Plowman may temper it a bit. However, UT is not Texas, Auburn, etc.
Chadwell
- least expensive hire. UTAD budget friendly. More room for staff salaries and future increases.
- potentially good upside near term as his O is new to SEC and would be run with better athletes. Mahlzahn experienced this with his until everybody figured it out.
- local guy who knows what orange blood is as well as Tennessee tradition. Would be coming home literally and recruit really well to his system in the region IMO.
- current COY. Tough, energetic, smart, leader.
- lack of major program experience and track record. Sunbelt level HC.
- unknown if O will translate to SEC level competition or for how long. Can he modify/adapt it as necessary when D's figure it out.
- unknown the quality of coaching staff he could bring/hire.
- current roster has problems with O-line mobility to run the scheme.
- he beat Georgia State and about everybody else except Freeze in OT, including Napier.
UT will touch base with a lot of more proven HC's to check their interest, however, they will realize that Chadwell will likely be their guy because McGoogle is who they will choose due to the current budget issues. However, what can happen is excitement and a great PR story of local kid making good in his journey to the spotlight of the SEC. That means a lot to Tennessee fans. Increased ticket, donation, gear sales = money for the program. If he doesn't make it we will be in better shape than now because the monetary problem will be resolved, especially with the new ESPN deal. Which would mean the ability to hire a top tier HC. If he does make it - wow - what a story and ride that would be!
lol I remember how Pruitt was supposed to leave us in better shape, but we see where that has gotten us.Gonna get this out of my mind after a lot of time to mull it over and really thinking about the current situation and how UT/boosters have historically responded.
