That’s what I love about Volnation. Doesn’t matter who the coach is, there will be gnashing of teeth and people who are certain that coach can’t cut it at UT. LMFAO.
Every coach is a risk, no matter how good they've been, but their past record is generally a good indicator of what they could potentially accomplish. There are no real guarantees. We could hire Urban Meyer and there's still a chance he fails.

Replacement? Chadwell only makes like $400k/yr so he’d be a safe bet to take the job if offered. But maybe they decide to go with someone like Gus or Herman.
Thanks, either one would be fine by me. Just ready to get this over. How much longer do you think we know something?

Y’all are crazy. Everyone says give us freeze!
Chadwell gives him all he wants in a game and everyone hates him. Chadwell Beat Napier this year who beat Campbell earlier in the year. He is also the coach of the year. He would die for this job and probably work harder than anyone. I am all for giving him a shot. I guarantee he will be better than the last few hires.

Pretty much what everyone is expecting, so why would they melt down...

Never mind. What was I thinking, it's VolNation..

They already think Saban let him go to sink Tennessee further into nothing so if he went home then you can guarantee 10-12 threads a day.

I know you’ve probably answered this a couple of different times, but how do you think Chadwell’s offense translates to the SEC? With top 10-15 talent?

i have some reservations but the guy is obviously creative. It may be shaky early on due to needing a different type of OL (could help a guy like Jahmir Johnson) but i have faith he could tweek it

I don’t know about “great hire” but he just won AP Coach of the Year and most importantly he’s not Pruitt.
He had a pretty phenomenal season. Not arguing that. But it was one season, and not a typical season at that. And it's not like he was playing Power 5 teams week in and week out.

Then who, in your opinion, is a great hire?

He gets more out of his players than Pruitt ever did with highly rated guys.
Like I said, every hire is a risk. I hope I'm wrong on Chadwell if he's the hire, but I see him as a huge risk based off his previous record. And I think there's a lot more proven guys, but I have no idea if they'd have interest in UT, or if UT would have the wherewithal to chase them. It's not like our admin aims very high when looking for football coaches.

Feels like we’ll find out the investigation findings and Pruitts fate by the end of this week.

I hope so and if it is Chadwell he should at least interview the guys who mean something to the university. If they want to be here of course. The rest of them can kick rocks as far as I am concerned.

Im not sure why there is hate on the board for Chadwell. Tennessee has proven in the past they can do worse. Much worse.
I don’t either. We could do a lot worse than someone who was just named Coach of the Year. He checks all the boxes. Offensive coach, does more with less, develops, has good QB play, and is a Tennessee guy.

Here we go again. We dont "know" whether Chadwell would succeed or not any more than any other coach. We assume the Offense he currently runs at CC would be run EXACTLY as is in the SEC. We assume he can't hire a staff. None of us knows who these guys network with behind the scenes. No hire is a sure thing. He checks some of the boxes. Doesn't check others. While he's not my first choice, for me I would prefer him over Malzahn or Herman, not because of experience or X and O's, but because of their lack of ability to work and play well with others. IF they hire him, I will support him, just as I would Malzahn or Herman. Just my two cents.
