Yep, the chance to handle everything quickly and cleanly has passed. Now we're in mitigation mode.
I just hope part of the “mitigation” is having a candidate in-hand.

And I’m not asking for Freeze, Gus or anyone that would be expensive or hard to get.

I hope they’ve identified a realistic candidate and announce it quickly.

To everyone crying foul at the notion of Gus because he's "too average": when in the last fifteen years have we looked even average or above??? When have we had anything remotely resembling and average program or coach???
"Hey...we could always do worse!" the new Volnation motivational slogan..😒

Really think about the ramifications of what saying that means..🤔

That really makes you wanna rum out buy the new hoodie and hat with that awesome slogan on it..doesn't it? 🤷‍♂️

Bama is his personal fiefdom. His power is all-reaching in ways that would be hard to replicate in Knoxville.
I don’t want to replicate that. Checks and balances are great in athletic departments Bc the truth is 99.9% or coaches ever hired aren’t Nick Saban or Urban Meyer and they should not have that much power.

Could imagine Dooley, butch, or Pruitt having that. THAT is rock bottom.

This program will need leadership and stability badly when this is all over with. And I'd look for Fulmer and Boyd to look for a coach that they could almost partner with vs one they'd have to bring along or train.

If I were to guess, I'd be looking at veteran coaches that would at least instill a level of calm and confidence as we pretty much start over again. A guy that's done it before, knows what they're looking for and how to do it.

That's why guys like marrone and malzahn will make sense... I'm sure they're others of that ilk, but that's the type I think they're gonna have to Target first, do any take it.. No idea.

But I'd be surprised if we STARTED with the chadwell type guy. May end up there...

Either way... Probably not gonna wind up with a consensus amongst fans.

I don’t know about my fellow Dolphin fans on here but I would trade Tua for Watson in a heartbeat.

I saw the potentially price tag and I am on the fence. On one hand, he’s a great QB and would be a huge upgrade to our offense. There’s really no question about the upside he brings in terms of talent and experience. The problem that keeps me on the fence is most analysts are saying it would take Tua, the 3rd overall, the 18th overall plus possible 1st round pick next year or multiple 2nd round picks.

While we have a team that went 10-6, we are still missing a lot of pieces. Not only do we lose our top draft picks, Watson also comes with a big cap hit. We still need a top receiver, a good RB, and more. We were literally starting practice squad WR at the end of the year. The offense as a whole is still missing important pieces.

It’s a tough choice.

Freeze would likely be the best choice at this moment in my opinion, he has baggage just like we do now and he will crawl here and he’s had big wins. I think it’s obvious he’s a good coach. Whatever our consequences are especially, if it’s post season bans and maybe a loss of a few scholarships, Freeze may have us ready to go once we’re in the clear. With the pending outcome of the investigation, not sure we will have many if any good options willing to come here without unloading the check book or control.

Would love to hear a well thought out response as to why he wouldn’t succeed here. I know taking two programs to their best win totals in 100 years happens all the time.
But is this a pipe dream or is there a legit chance the guy would come here?
