It would have been nice if you actually said how much it would cost to get the coaches out of their current contracts. For example would we have to pay Liberty 1 million or 10 million or more to get Freeze. I understand he signed a new contract not long ago. Without that information, this is just a popularity poll. Most voters don't care about cost anyway. How many times have I read, "pay them whatever it takes"?

Don't really know enough about these coaches, tbh. I pretty much only watch college and mostly just pay attention to this university. Can someone explain why people are hyped up about Freeze? I know nothing about any of these guys. He seems to have done well at Liberty, but his time coaching in the SEC doesn't look good when he was coaching Ole Miss. He went winless in the SEC, except for one year there. 6-21. Not very good. Though maybe I'm missing something about his time at Ole Miss. Didn't really pay much attention to them when he was there.

If Pruitt is not fired with cause, he'll be our coach in the fall
At this point if the university keeps him his legs have been cut off from underneath him. His current staff is trying to get the F outta Knoxville. Sports Source reported he is down to speaking to assistant coaches from small schools like Buffalo for example to join his staff because of this. If he is kept then this Administration has put the final nail in our football program.
The Sports Source all agreed that the one known commodity that would take this job regardless of what happens is Hugh Freeze.

I think Jeff Fisher could do a good job in college. What was his NFL record against Nick Saban? I’m kidding but Pete Carroll, Ol Ball Coach & St. Nick had less than stellar pro coaching years and went back to the college game and got it goin

What about Fickell? Why is he not getting more attention? Is he just that much of a longshot like Cambell?

Many believe he's waiting on the Ohio State job, if coach Day heads to the NFL. He's also considered a "defensive" head coach and I think we'll be looking for an offensive minded coach.

Dude was a above .500 HC in the NFL for almost 20 years..thats not bad at all. He has the whole head coach thing down and he wouldn't have the front office making/interfering in player decisions. He legit would be the best hire since Majors and the only one with a legitimate proven track record of success IF he was hired.

And no one in Tennessee would have to google search his name...thats a huge plus.

It amazes me the amount of people who say no to Tom Herman he would be a big upgrade here. I’m not saying he’s my first choice but he would win here.
Texas is a very weird job there is more politics and drama behind the scenes much worse than here and obviously that’s bad. Would he win a championship here idk, but people say he couldn’t win in a weak big 12. Okay so he couldn’t beat a rolling OU, and a rising Iowa State, but if we simply look at what your supposed to do, he beats down smaller competition (meanwhile Pruitt lost or escaped weak competition) and Tom Herman beats the teams he supposed to will he lose a toss up? Sure. But typically wins the games he’s supposed to. Next his teams always put up a lot of points (people say big 12, but honestly the SEC in recent years has been shootouts by elite teams so offense is a premium now. (Meanwhile with Pruitt offense was enemic)
I would be happy if we hired Herman and he did his offensive staff and on defense bring Kevin Steele and Rodney garner over, (or muschamp as DC) that type of combo could be pretty good. He averaged 8 wins a year over 4 years I'd take that here after the misery we've had the past 12-15 years.
Apparently Herman doesn’t work well with others so that may be a red flag

Is there any indication that any of the money guys would support the hiring of Freeze with their name and money on the line? All the talking heads are just trying to keep click bait as high on the board as possible, it is all they got right now because evidently nobody has a clue what the investigation is going to yield. I don't think UT does either right now. If the internal investigation had some real issues to fire or negotiate I doubt we are still here, but I don't think the money guys see a HC with enough upside and decent risk/reward factors for them to reach in their own pockets and pay off this staff. It is easy to propose that hire with someone else's reputation and money. Not so much with your own when you cannot hide behind "I am just reporting what is out there" or a screenname. thus the information gap, Keep hoping somebody on here has actually heard some decent second hand info.

I am afraid that continued Freeze talk is just the result of click bait artists trying set themselves up with some Trailer Trash II headlines in the near future. When you pay for your own airtime you gotta keep as many eyes and ears on your show as possible. In the absence of facts you have to maximize conjecture in order to perpetuate story lines and hide behind plausible deniability. . Just where we are.

According to votes the numbers 2 and 3 have been fired in the last month for not winning enough at their university's and number 4 has the most loses in his profession. I'm confused but I thought we wanted the best

Tom Herman was fired after going 32-18 and 4-0 in bowl games. He can absolutely coach. I would take him in a NY minute over the slop thats over there now.

While Malzahn is not who I'd personally choose, the man has a record of 53-27 at Auburn, including 6 consecutive bowl games, 2 SEC West Championships, 1 SEC Championship, and 1 National Championship appearance. Oh and 3 wins against Saban.

Right but wasn’t that like early December then he didn’t get the Auburn job. Harsin got the job like 3 days before Christmas. Even though on paper he was welcomed back it was still a no go behind closed doors.
Would that allow Freeze to sue the SEC for collusion?

I believe the Hugh Freeze buy out would be between $ 10-15 million if you take his estimated salary until 2026. If Pruitt does get a buy out along with his staff that would make the cost to the school around $ 20-25 million then you would need to pay Freeze a salary of around $ 4-7 million a year after that. Now that would all change if Pruitt was found to be have known there were violations but as of now the buy out moneys would be a close guess.

I’m pretty sure if Freeze wants the job as bad as they’re saying he does, he could pay his own buyout. If we’re able to give Pruitt a reduced buyout and Butch off the books, the university could make it up to Freeze by giving him something similar to Mullen’s contract.

1. Campbell
2. Campbell with a much bigger offer, incentives for SECE, Playoffs, NCG, etc
3. Freeze (6-21 in SEC record is counting all his vacated wins, he beat those teams, then had to give the W back).

The first two WANT to be at UT, and have expressed that behind the scenes. We desperately need 7-9 win consistant seasons to change recruiting and to stabilize the football program. This list could give us that.

Lane Kiffin doesn't want to come back to Tennessee and would use UT to get a raise at Ole Miss.
