Bridge to heck of a lot better than now! It’s time to get someone proven! They need to have head coach experience and a chip on their shoulder to beat everyone else. I’m tired of being the laughing stock of the SEC. I use to use the mantra that every program has its ups and downs but we have more downs!!!
I’d like to know outside of Phillip’s first football hire having a terrible third season, what all has he done thats so bad? Just about every athletic program is better today than it was the day he was hired. Fundraising has increased every year since Phillip has been here. Even in a pandemic year. A lot of you folks need to understand that this guy has done a fine job as AD. Good thing Boyd and Plowman agree. You got your head so far up Fulmer's butt you can't see how bad both Fulmer and Pruitt are. You came in here out of nowhere, could you please return to wherever that was. Just GO AWAY!
Vols had everything go right in 1998 when we won national championship. Sometimes it happensThat Auburn team his 1st season was one of the luckiest in college football history to get to 12-2. They beat Washington St by 7. Beat Miss St with a last minute td, came back from a big deficit to beat A&M in the 4th qtr, had the hail Mary vs UGA, and the kick six vs Bama. They had everything go right for them that year.
Since 07, how many times has UT posted a winning record in a single SEC season? Answer is twice. One of those teams was coached by Pruitt. He can win here.Ergo we are going after Auburn's leftovers?
If we had the swag of top programs we'd go drop a big boy offer on top coaches. Campbell, Fickell, Freeze, etc. Instead we're talking about a host of recently fired guys...that's the definition of "limp dick".
Making big offers to big coaches is what we're asking for. YOU are the one talking about keeping a losing HC Pruitt..
I personally don’t think it will be Gus. But looking at these numbers, would Gus truly be a bad bridge hire? I mean most realistic people know we’re not going to get any big names at this point—assuming Pruitt is gone. So of the realistic names I’m seeing everyone float around, Gus would be near the top for me. And I think we’d all agree that 3 8-4 results in 4 seasons would be very nice compared to what we’ve gotten the last 12-13 years. He really is as average as can be after his 1st season. He is 32-26 in the SEC after that great 1st season. He is 2-7 vs UGA, 1-7 after the 1st season. He is 2-5 in bowl games. His offenses were 25th, 79th, 49th, 25th, 48th, 28th, and 88th. He never got back to that 1st season form when they were 12th. He has lost at least 4 games every season after his 1st year. He has lost 5, 6, 5, 4, 5, 4, 4.
I think Gus is Auburns version of Fulmer... go quiet for a few years then slowly get back involved
