That's fine . Get his butt in here to calm the kids down and start running the program.

I don't like Pruitt . The way they have handled this no way I would want to be here if I was him.

The university better have one hell of a case or Pruitt could have a hell of a suit against them.

He would have to bring back the mustache but i would eventually talk myself into it. I know players and coaches alike absolutely love fisher. He was a part of some damn good draft classes so he has an eye for talent. I think he would be willing to give power to younger coordinators.

And we don't have to worry about him learning on the job. Give him the NCAA rule book to study and let him hire whatever coaches he wants.

I couldn't believe it when the first thing I read this morning was him saying he wants the job.

I see it as the opposite. Gus is going to be a candidate for every major coaching opening next year. Us doing what it takes to get him a year early would signal we are serious about winning. Because he’s not going to take a job where he can’t win.

Gus would stabilize and get more than 3. Don’t use logic on here though some are hell bent on no Gus.

Just popped into my head, but how would you feel if we hired Gus with Major Applewhite as OC/QB from Bama and Charlie Strong as DC from Bama? Both are analyst making close to nothing lol idk. Gus keeps Jay as well.

I personally think Charlie Strong is a better coordinator then HC and Applewhite was a really good OC for Herman

Any smoke around Napier/Chadwell?

Napier is on every southern school’s list. He’s seen as “next in line” to be a great SEC or ACC HC.

But his demands are high and he doesn’t deviate from them. We will call, but he’ll quickly find we aren’t what he wants.

Complete control and his assistants and no outside taking heads.

The fat cats at Tennessee’s heads would explode

Strong last I heard was being considered for DC at Florida.

Gus will only hire OCs that run his system. I don’t think Applewhite does but he’s a solid hire.

I would rather have Currie than Fulmer. 100. Anyone who disagrees is foolish.
I'm sure you were solidly in Currie's corner when he went rogue and flew all over the country, in his Kansas State buddies plane, with his phone turned off, offering the job to anyone who would listen.

After being here for what will be now 5 head coaching searches, it is apparent people don’t like a coach they think they “know” 100%.

Intrigue and uncertainty is a lot more appealing and fun than stability.

We all know what we’d get. It’s certainly a lot better than the past hires. Is he a guy that’s going to get Tennessee to a championship and not just the game probably not but there’s a few really good reasons why Tennessee needs a figure like Gus rignt now
