He would have to bring back the mustache but i would eventually talk myself into it. I know players and coaches alike absolutely love fisher. He was a part of some damn good draft classes so he has an eye for talent. I think he would be willing to give power to younger coordinators.
I see it as the opposite. Gus is going to be a candidate for every major coaching opening next year. Us doing what it takes to get him a year early would signal we are serious about winning. Because he’s not going to take a job where he can’t win.
Any smoke around Napier/Chadwell?He would have to bring back the mustache but i would eventually talk myself into it. I know players and coaches alike absolutely love fisher. Napier is on every southern school’s list. He’s seen as “next in line” to be a great SEC or ACC HC.
But his demands are high and he doesn’t deviate from them. We will call, but he’ll quickly find we aren’t what he wants.
Just popped into my head, but how would you feel if we hired Gus with Major Applewhite as OC/QB from Bama and Charlie Strong as DC from Bama? Both are analyst making close to nothing lol idk. Gus keeps Jay as well.
After being here for what will be now 5 head coaching searches, it is apparent people don’t like a coach they think they “know” 100%.Gus would stabilize and get more than 3. Don’t use logic on here though some are hell bent on no Gus.

Intrigue and uncertainty is a lot more appealing and fun than stability.
