It is the most UT thing ever that we have a string of incompetent ADs, chase off the guy we think is the most incompetent yet, replace him with our national championship winning head coach, and then he's even MORE incompetent/destructive than the rest of them. Literally every decision made at UT regarding football is a bad one.

Currie at least had a lot of admin experience before he took the job here. Fulmer, on the other hand, is a learn-on-the-job AD and hired a learn-on-the-job HC. I kind of feel bad for Currie, because I think that sewage pit of a coaching search was caused primarily by him being jerked around by forces above him.

If it was truly up to him, after the Mullen deal fell through he would have talked to Gundy, Leach, et al. and would not have gone straight to Schiano. The search had been going on for a couple of weeks. When Schiano's name was first floated out of nowhere on Friday/Saturday and he was announced Sunday afternoon, it was obvious what had happened.

It’s going to be 10x harder for Pruitt to recruit elite prospects (not even mentioning trying to convince quality assistants to join him) if he stays vs a new head coach/staff even if we had a bowl ban/scholly reductions.
It depends on who wants to take the job....... we have not exactly had coaches breaking down the door in previous years and that is without probation.

Or you know, the AD could save themselves from embarrassment if they just hire Hugh Freeze.

He’ll take the job before anyone else and it’ll save us time instead of throwing sh*t at the wall and see what sticks.

It’s the most logical thing we could do at this point.

Perfect UT incompetence would be if they had no intention to fire him but will now have to because they've kneecapped him.

There's not going to be any coaches left for Pruitt to choose from if he's retained...
If he's fired and we bring in a new coach, he's going to have to bring his entire staff with him

Unless you're a die hard Tennessee fan growing up or have family nearby, I'm not really sure why any good recruit would want to play for Tennessee right now.

If you look solely at past performance history you're completely missing the point. With your logic we should dig up General Neyland and put him in charge.

Plenty of good coaches dont change, and the game leaves them behind. Fulmer and Miles would be 3 win coaches anywhere now
Your logic*

And, I never said dig up GN. You said that.

Fulmer wouldnt be a 3 win coach man. That's absolutely ridiculous.

Take a lap.

It is stunning, absolutely stunning, that we've been able to recruit as well as we have for the past decade. Especially the past 5 years.
