Supposedly Austin Price was saying the only way we could get Ty Simpson and some of the other '22 recruits was if Pruitt was the head coach

The biggest mistake we could make is thinking any player or recruiting class is big enough to keep a bad coach longer. Every time I have heard that at any school it ends up with said coach coming back, losing lots of games, getting fired the next year, and recruiting tanking. No player is more important than a good coach. If the only reason we keep Pruitt is because “he is bringing in a great class next year”, we are screwed for at least 3 more years.

I never found that exact verbiage from AP on VQ. I saw where it looked like Pruitt was using landing Ty as a pitch to stay, but nothing where AP specifically said we wouldn’t land him without Pruitt, but I might’ve missed it.

It make sense Pruitt would try to use that for leverage and obviously a coaching change would present some challenges, but I don’t think they’re impossible to overcome if you hire the right staff with a plan for his development.

Oh boy AP gone rouge huh?👀
He’s trying to save his boy Pruitt. So he is saying fans are a problem and the administration and everyone else other than the real problem, Pruitt. Don’t go 3-7 in year three and get blown out every week. That is what is killing recruiting. And the constant assistant shuffling, which is also because of Pruitt. Lucky for us Ty has major Tennessee influences. As long as we don’t make a terrible hire, he will be a Vol. Napier or Freeze would lock this damn state up.

When we hire a new coach and land Ty Simpson and other top kids in Tennessee, I hope everyone cancels VQ for all the pure crap AP is trying to throw at fans. It’s absolutely outrageous.
When you are a ventriloquist dummy you can only say what's been put in your mouth by someone else.

stop being so dramatic people. he's a former coach. Pruitt is on record saying he's happy foe the help. Why a CHoF head coach, now an AD, who hired a coordinator to big time SEC job, doing what he loves, an indictment?

The HC isn’t going to say he hates it but I am sure he doesn’t like being looked over the shoulder all the time. It’s human nature

I would be extremely underwhelmed, which just makes it more likely to happen. Not sure why so many of you would be happy with a Marrone hire. Guess Vol fans have been conditioned to accept mediocre, or less. Not sure Marrone even rises to the level of mediocre. It would be so disappointing when there are better coaches sitting out there. Coaches that have actual winning records. Marrone would just be a placeholder until the next coaching search in 2-3 years.

So depressing.
The shape this program is in we all might be disappointed in the next ire cause so many don't want to come. For me, I am not so tore up about Marrone if he happens to be the one but much rather have Fickell or Napier.

For those who want Tee, he would be no different than Pruitt in the management aspect. Pruitt turned this into a Hoover club house and he employed all of his old buddies, Tee will do the same.

No coach is going to say anything about their AD. Even if they hate them. Same as a coach talking about coaches that they fire. They can’t come out and say I hate that guy so I fired him. Same as Pruitt can’t come out and say Fulmer needs to back off and realize he is out of the game.

Tip of the iceberg....
Thanks for everything you have done for different folks over the years. I’ve lurked on the board for awhile and it appears you are a great man. With that being said, it appears you have a disdain for Phillip. He’s done more for this great university than you’ll ever do. Every move he makes is for the betterment of the university and our athletics programs.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Maybe he tried to do what he thought best. Doesn't make him right that it was for the best. He's human, not a football god.
