Honestly.... i think fulmer had a valid argument that Rick didn’t deserve that kind of pay raise. Glad he stayed but i can see it.
Its an interesting argument. Im curious to see where this team ends up , if they don't get past the sweet 16 this year there is a case to be made for sure.

No, he interviewed Tucker, Pruitt and Steele. Not a solid hire. I support the HC at Tennessee because I am a Vol alum. None of those guys was a home run. Pruitt has been up and down, but please do not pretend everyone thought this was a great hire.
Solid hire, given the circumstances. The hire perceived as a good one, locally, and nationally.

Two new things (to me anyway) in this:

Current analyst Alex Jackson is under consideration for the OL job and Fulmer is sitting in on the interviews.

Exactly. Is it normal for an AD to sit in on these interviews? It is known by every other fanbase that Fulmer mettle’s.

Wrong. Get real dude. Nationally and locally it was perceived as a solid hire, given the situation he was dealt.
Yeah, many thought a coach from a winning culture was a good idea and of course other Saban coaches were doing well at the time. There was a good off that didn’t like it either.

Sure but if the options are: Marrone, Tee, Gus... who are you taking, give me the VFL tbh
Marrone and/or Gus everyday and twice on Sunday.............and I think Marrone is a horrible choice. The list of successful coaches who were great players at that school is very, very short.

An AD has zero business sitting in on interviews.

nothing wrong with speaking with each candidate but if he’s really sitting in with Pruitt that’s bull ****

Pruitt is not allowed to offer any contracts so that is pointless. The two guys he wanted to hire Pugh and Davis are employed else where.

Fulmer watching film with coaches is not a big deal at all. Owners and other ADs do it all the time. It’s really just a chance to connect without taking your coaches away from their jobs.

I like Rick a lot. But he isn’t worth the money he’s being paid. Could see him getting bounced early in the tournament again this year.

If he's just sitting in that's one thing, but if he's giving an advice then it becomes an issue
