How is that when he was a head coach of an NFL team?

I'm not saying he doesn't have the credentials. But I don't think that means kids or families he would recruit would know much about him.

They might learn quickly. Who knows.

We're all a bunch of junkies and we had to do some research on him. Would you know who he was right now if you saw him in a grocery store?

It might would work. I think he's probably a great coach. But it's not a day one home run in my opinion. We would need to give him time to build it. I have no doubt he would make us a pretty good team. I just think we could do a lot better.

To be fair..If you are a butthole to people and lose, it is going to make you an easy target. That is why Pruitt is getting pure hatred treatment instead of just wanting a better coach. Every disgrunt you have ever pissed off comes out of the woodwork with a story.
You can take UEM’s word on this....he knows what he’s talking about 🤣

***Don’t snap UEM, I’m just messing with you 😬

Adam Gase has had 2 NFL head coaching jobs and as far as I can tell the only thing of note he has done is be the offensive coordinator for a team with Peyton Manning at QB.

UT has done such a good job of burying the football program that there are people actively talking up Doug Marrone in here.

No, it's actually just using common sense. We aren't hiring Urban Meyer or Bob Stoops or Matt Campbell or Luke Fickell or Hugh Freeze. Debate Napier, Chadwell, or maybe Herman all you want. There is a "proven" crowd in here, and Marrone has done that more than either Napier or Chadwell. I don't know any of them personally, so that's up to others to decide who is a fit. But Marrone has coached adults, and somehow I have trouble reconciling those who favored Mullen at MSU and don't like Marrone.

He’s been way more successful than Gase

Deandre Johnson started last last year and was easily our most explosive pass rusher. He would at the very least he would be in the 2 deep and that’s almost assured just by math alone.

Brandon Johnson was a productive slot wr that was constantly open on 3rd downs. He also showed the ability to make a spectacular catch. He is also a good run blocker on the outside. Brandon Johnson is not randy moss, devante smith, or even Justin hunter. But he would’ve been nice to have around next year even for nothing more than good practice competition and culture. (He’s a scrappy dude). You don’t have to lowball the guys Bc they are no longer here.
Neither guy would be happy in the two deep and neither one is good enough to be a starter....Deandre Johnson was a huge step down from Taylor and I feel the young players will more than make up for him..... I have never been impressed with Brandon although I hope both excel at their new homes.

A great coach? What great coach ever has had a 1-15 season on their resume, and a .400ish winning percentage as HC in a 14 year career?

How can you honestly say that you "Have no doubt he would make us a very good team"?

But wouldn't you think that most recruits keep up with the NFL watching ever Sunday? And I am not promoting him cause I really don't know that much about him. I was just referring to the fact him being an NFL coach most maybe not all would have heard something about him being in the NFL. But no biggie just a thought.

I’m not saying he is a good coach but 1-15 is bc Jaguars management decided to tank the season away for a new QB.

Yeah admittedly I only really watched one game of his closely, but he impressed me with what I saw. I remember thinking I liked him a lot.

I always say, you don't make it to the NFL by chance. You had to impress someone somewhere to get in the big show. Again, I don't know much about him but making it to the show as a HC isn't a small thing even if you lose a lot and usually there is more to it than the HC just losing a lot of games.

Can we make a bet that you have to change your avatar to hank for a month if we hired Dougy that you would be on the train by the opener?
I ain't changed my avatar in ten years so no...besides that, I love the Vols so if he is hired I will mostly really try to swallow my tongue and try to get behind it, and I will desperately hope to be proven wrong..but..I will be the first to jump on the Fahr the loser train next time...and there will be a next time.

Betting the QB we just got was promised a package where he plays at least some. I think we saw a little of that with BM but I’m guessing Pruitt wants to have that chance of pace

A package? He isn’t transferring for a package. He is transferring to start. Kid is a dynamic athlete. I’d expect he is our starting QB. Very good player and fun to watch

The rest of the conference would collectively s**t their pants if we hired Urban. I think I would too.
Edit: To be fair, we all know this isn’t happening.
I know its not; but, if we're going to demand, then let's demand!

I have watched idiot NFL front offices hire dozens if not hundreds of horrible coaches in my lifetime. That means less than zero to me.
