That's a pipe dream. Somebody is going to have show they can dial it up here before we start bringing in those kinda classes even semi-consistently.
Those programs are always top Bc they have great coaches so it’s safe to assume their players will pan out (ie: bama, Clemson, Ohio state bump).

you have to look at classes more in tiers vs individual rankings:
Elite: Classes 1-7
Great: 8-13
Good: 14-20

Something like that and it changes on a given year but as long as we’re in the top 15 every year then coaching/development takes it from there. I think virtually any coach in America can consistently pull top 15 classes at Ut given our brand, budget, and draw.

Dude recruited ONE 4* to Syracuse in his tenure there and only had two winning records in 4 years. He is notorious as someone who is introverted & dislikes recruiting. I really cannot believe we are talking ourselves into hiring someone who worked with Fulmer before these kids were even born. Not trying to be exaggeratory but this would be a worse hire than Butch hands down.
He did enough at Syracuse to get 2 NFL jobs Head Coaching jobs.

We will miss both Johnson’s. Specifically Deandre. We literally don’t have the bodies to have edge players.
Both Johnson’s are neither one productive enough to be starters and neither one of them will want to sit the bench...... I don’t think they will be missed no matter who the coach is.

In 6 years, Dino Babers has signed 3 four stars. Before that, Scott Schaefer recruited one four star in 3 years. Imagine trying to recruit players to cold Syracuse when there is virtually no talent around you. Marrone is the most successful coach at Syracuse since Paul Pasqualoni and even his last 3 years combined were below .500.

Deandre Johnson started last last year and was easily our most explosive pass rusher. He would at the very least he would be in the 2 deep and that’s almost assured just by math alone.

Brandon Johnson was a productive slot wr that was constantly open on 3rd downs. He also showed the ability to make a spectacular catch. He is also a good run blocker on the outside. Brandon Johnson is not randy moss, devante smith, or even Justin hunter. But he would’ve been nice to have around next year even for nothing more than good practice competition and culture. (He’s a scrappy dude). You don’t have to lowball the guys Bc they are no longer here.

I like some of these names...good list.
But, why would Campbell be at the top of your list, if no shot? If we say this about Campbell, why isn't Meyer or Peterson at the top?

Its like I've been saying, for 80 yrs, we rivaled the best program in all of college sports, Bama. And, make no mistake: yes, Bama fans hate Auburn; but, for 80 yrs, they hated us as much, if not more, because we beat them as much as they beat us. We have to refocus. We make Urban Meyer or Chris Peterson turn down the greatest deal they have ever heard, and maybe ever will hear.

Bama went and got Nick Saban, we go get Urban Meyer. If we, as fans, are truly serious about being "elite", these should be the first names we speak. We talk about Shianomo, and how pissed we are about Pruitt and Fulmer and admins, and where this program is, and where we think we should be. Yet, we, as fans, are falling short, too. We say elite over and over and over again, yet Freeze, Herman, Kiffin, etc are the names said over and over and over again.

Freeze, Kiffin, Herman...very well could become elite here or somewhere else, and I would be ecstatic by Freeze or Kiffin; but, I know Urban Meyer would be. We win the East in 2 yrs, with that hire. To be elite, we truly have to think elite.

If everything I've read is close to being true, Texas threw the biggest offer ever at Urban (7 years $84 million), agreed to all his structural changes, and he still said no. He apparently has his eyes set on the pros.

Sure there would be. No college professor would post something this appalling and keep his or her job.

You also keep calling Stacy Abrams controversial. I am not sure that is relevant, but I don't think many people consider her all that controversial (except maybe this guy).
False

Come on man..it wasn't that bad..jeez. You guys kill me..it's ok to destroy a man for nothing.

This dumb isht is out of hand...do you really not see that? I really hate this crap...with a burning passion. And people like you that go along with it are guilty of empowering these idiots by going along with it...that makes you just as bad.

It's not "cancel" culture..It is "destroy peoples lives for no good reason" culture.

The man said nothing that deserved losing his livelihood for..period.

I'm not a fan of cancel culture at all, pure cancel culture is terribly destructive, but not every such firing is cancel culture. Things like this are generally patterns. If somebody is doing a good job for you, you find a way to help them. If somebody has a history of dumb things, you let them go. There's always a stated reason and a real reason. Sometimes they are the same. Sometimes not.

100% agree....I am totally against Marrone. He will just drive the program even deeper onto the abyss.

Oh I think it is.

To support your point. The difference recruiting to Syracuse and Cincinnati is like night and day because Ohio produces so much talent. Luke Fickell has recruited 10 four stars in his 5 classes, and 5 are from Ohio and 1 is from Kentucky, which is basically Ohio.

sure they would. I see plenty of them posting regularly inappropriate degrading things at politicians.

I mean for heavens sake a professor in the northeast told their class that wanted to see trump die but wasn’t fired. His free speech was protected.

Adam Gase has had 2 NFL head coaching jobs and as far as I can tell the only thing of note he has done is be the offensive coordinator for a team with Peyton Manning at QB.

UT has done such a good job of burying the football program that there are people actively talking up Doug Marrone in here.
