This dumb isht is out of hand...do you really not see that? I really hate this crap...with a burning passion. And people like you that go along with it are guilty of empowering these idiots by going along with it...that makes you just as bad.

It's not "cancel" culture..It is "destroy peoples lives for no good reason" culture.

The man said nothing that deserved losing his livelihood for..period.

That's a pipe dream. Somebody is going to have show they can dial it up here before we start bringing in those kinda classes even semi-consistently.

I like some of these names...good list.
But, why would Campbell be at the top of your list, if no shot? If we say this about Campbell, why isn't Meyer or Peterson at the top?

Its like I've been saying, for 80 yrs, we rivaled the best program in all of college sports, Bama. And, make no mistake: yes, Bama fans hate Auburn; but, for 80 yrs, they hated us as much, if not more, because we beat them as much as they beat us. We have to refocus. We make Urban Meyer or Chris Peterson turn down the greatest deal they have ever heard, and maybe ever will hear.

Bama went and got Nick Saban, we go get Urban Meyer. If we, as fans, are truly serious about being "elite", these should be the first names we speak. We talk about Shianomo, and how pissed we are about Pruitt and Fulmer and admins, and where this program is, and where we think we should be. Yet, we, as fans, are falling short, too. We say elite over and over and over again, yet Freeze, Herman, Kiffin, etc are the names said over and over and over again.

Freeze, Kiffin, Herman...very well could become elite here or somewhere else, and I would be ecstatic by Freeze or Kiffin; but, I know Urban Meyer would be. We win the East in 2 yrs, with that hire. To be elite, we truly have to think elite.

I think you have to look past the Gruden stuff. I don't recall that he ever said it was 100%, but I'm not going to look it up. Only that there were discussions and things being done to attempt to change the way normal business was being handled. The Gruden news made people interested, but I think there was way more to it.

Edit: To be fair, we all know this isn’t happening.

You also keep calling Stacy Abrams controversial. I am not sure that is relevant, but I don't think many people consider her all that controversial (except maybe this guy).

I hate that Urban is so unrealistic. But man, even if you got 3 years out of him we probably make a serious run in that 3rd year. And he would totally change the culture and the talent for the next guy.

Dude recruited ONE 4* to Syracuse in his tenure there and only had two winning records in 4 years. He is notorious as someone who is introverted & dislikes recruiting. I really cannot believe we are talking ourselves into hiring someone who worked with Fulmer before these kids were even born. Not trying to be exaggeratory but this would be a worse hire than Butch hands down.

swain seems set on O'Brien....thinks it would be a great hire for offensive purposes....not sure i can agree?

Marrone would be a good fit here, but not for the reasons any of us want.

siap, the biggest problem with Marrone is he'd have to win over fans, and we're just not gonna be good enough fast enough for him to do that.

but he's a solid football coach. not sexy. not gonna get anyone excited and i don't know how recruits will react to him.....but he is a good coach.

i don't think we'll do all the things that Napier apparently wants done structurally, to be a head coach at this level...not sure we're capable of even trying lol.

if i could choose the coach, it'd be in the kiffin/freeze area.

chadwell...i just don't buy it. to me, he's larry fedora.

Malzahn....that is one that i'm pretty much against, but if i had to guess.... malzahn and marrone would both get interviewed, and my dark horse that isn't much of a dark horse would be Steele. i think that's the pond we're swimming in....if none of those three bite...we'll definitely be doing this again 3 years....

don't see any chance we even go after Herman, and i don't think Fickell/Campbell would reciprocate the interest.

Chris Lowe said on Swain yesterday that Marrone enjoyed recruiting. His players have always really liked him.

They may have not been 4 stars, but does he get any credit for recruiting and developing Chandler Jones and Justin Pugh, both 1st rd picks, in his time there?
