A .500 record as a college coach and a losing record as a NFL coach. Marrone should not be the first call, unless you're just looking forward to doing this again in 3 years.Chadwell is a huge experiment. I think we’ve seen the ceiling of his offensive system in the SEC and it got pretty much the entire UK offensive staff fired.
Napier would be very good, if he would come.
Freeze would be great, but if Auburn didn’t go there, then there is something bad behind the scenes.
I’m sort of Meh on Malzahn.
Marrone has a better resume than most of the guys that will actually consider coming here.

He could be exactly what the program needs.
Why he does not suck
- Took a Syracuse team that had been the worst in their conference and won a conference championship with them in year 4.
- Won 9 wins in a season with Buffalo, at a time when that was no small feat, and left in his own terms when the team changed hands.
- Made it to the AFC Championship game with Bortles at QB, and did well until his GM got rid of all his defensive talent
- Extensive NFL experience as OL coach and OC (including time under Payton at New Orleans) that could be a huge selling point to recruits.
- Good prior relationship with Fulmer (which may be a bigger factor in winning than any of us on this side of the office door realize).
- He’s got one of the best resumes of all the guys that would most likely come here.
Marrone isn't even close to those other guys. Just say no to crystal meth. It rots your brain. He took a team from worst in its conference to conference champs in 4 years. It was a major rebuild, like UT would be, and that definitely skews the numbers. Know who else had losing records in the NFL? Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, Lane Kiffin, etc.
Torn. I feel for the humanity of it, but I also keep reminding myself of the millions he's getting paid for a job he's clearly failing at. But no one should be victim to the utter stupidity that is the UT administration. Lord knows, we have suffered from it for a long time now.I actually do feel a little bit bad for Pruitt because of what he's had to deal with. But I know a lot was brought on himself
