because he can’t under the circumstances. As bad as it sounds the Administration is between a rock and hard place. If they fire him before they have the investigation ducks in a row they might end up getting sued. They have to wait it out

I started following the 247 transfer portal twitter account and the number of kids entering the portal and landing other places is pretty insane.

Really f’ing high school kids if universities are gonna hold multiple spots each year for transfers - which they will.

And really fks the small schools who’s best players will almost always leave to try and go to a bigger school.

Only way to counter this is the eliminate the 25 player cap. Can that. Keep the 85. Let teams sign as many as they want provided they stay under the 85.

Someone please tell me this is something being considered by the NCAA

You bring a guy in here that cares about this program and that wins, it all goes away.

Think about how “toxic” the b-ball program was before Barnes. Bruce investigation, cuonzo being “run off” by “racist” Tennessee fans, Donnie Tyndall embarrassment. We hire Rick Barnes, he builds one of the best cultures I’ve ever seen, and we win. All the noise goes away and we’re media darlings

I get there is frustration all around, especially from Pruitt and some of the coaching staff around how long this is taking... but this is technically their fault for 1. Apparently not being sneaky/smart enough to do what every other university does for football recruits and 2. Based on the reports of making enemies in the Academic/Thornton side then we wouldn’t be in the mess. Handle your shiz the right way and treat everyone you come in contact with respectively and we may not have been totally in this mess? Idk I could be wrong, just spitballing here.

The thing is what if it drags out for months? We make no hires and have no spring ball?

They will focus on selling the school, the area, and the community so much more than these supposed “gurus”. The gurus primary sales pitch is to come play for a guy who has developed all these NFL players (while at elite programs; as soon as they’re away from daddy they suck). Leads to a lot of individualism.

That’s why we never saw the team quit per say but it’s also why we never saw them play together. AP has even talked about how the team lacks chemistry. Same ish was said here in Columbia about muschamp’s program. I think that’s why you saw them hire Beamer. Massive push from former players that talked about how great a guy he was PLUS Beamer really wants to be here. We have got to find a guy like that for UT.

But we can’t have nice things. So yeah keep Pruitt. I can guarantee he will never succeed. No matter how many mulligans he gets. He fundamentally does not fit any school but bama

This makes a lot of sense, have we really had someone who wanted to be a UT for the sake it's UT since CPF? Probably not.

"All that is being said" The players are hearing what the admin is saying? Admin hasn't said anything.

I wonder if they're dragging this out in an attempt to let the the time pass where players can't be admitted to another school and then fire him? Underhanded tactic but I wouldn't put anything past some of these folks. They can't transfer out and be eligible next season if they can't get admitted to a school for spring semester.
