But why is it even in the negotiated to begin with? It should be common knowledge that if your terrible you’ll be fired.

Because agents want contracts to be as favorable as possible for their clients, and they have leverage to make demands. It's not just UT. Many other schools hire coaches with similar terms. Auburn, TX, SCAR all just paid big buyouts to release coaches they felt were underperforming. It's the current landscape of big boy football.

Fulmer worked with Boyd to get the money to keep Barnes. Not sure where that narrative has been coming from. Both wanted to keep Rick.
Someone said it in a post and guys just ran with it. They just have a hard on for Fulmer. Let one of the "insiders" drop a little nugget, or like a post, and this place goes ape sh^t.

I acutely get it back today finally. Its been pretty much done for 2 weeks just waiting on a bag of special clips for the grill to come in. They finally got here yesterday so It is supposed to be ready to pick up by COB today. I'm so glad
Heck yea. Man it took them 2 months on mine. It was a lot of work and the specialty parts from Roush took forever. Apparently they don't keep most of the stuff I needed in stock, and only make them as orders come through.

After listening to TB and looking at Billy Naper's coaching history, I like him. Hes young and coached with a lot of good HCs, most of the time retaining his coaching duties instead of being let go during a HC change. He did well at ASU and was offered to keep his job when Herman came in as HC. He knows the area and is from Tennessee, hes my 1st call I think.

The issue as I see it is it’s likely that he’s was told he was being retained and now it’s just the violations that are at issue
i had a longer response typed up. but it doesn't matter. this is all just dumb. they don't need the investigation to fire him or keep him. and i doubt seriously they told him he was being retained w/out something being made public at the time they made that decision, so they could move on with staff hires and recruiting. keeping the lid on that while speculation has been going on for more than a couple of months makes no sense either.

pick a direction. go.....
