Well. if true, some people are really gonna be pi$$ed if Pruitt hires someone this week. That would throw a monkey wrench into the narrative that Pruitt is not allowed to make hires until the investigation is complete. By the way, that could go on for a loooooong time.

It's really one of the two things we're all waiting on ... for Pruitt to make hires (thus signifying that he's the coach for the next season) or for the investigation to get him fired (cause obviously going 3-7 didn't do it). I know that's all I'm waiting on anyway.

No sources, common sense. We aren't going to publicize failures. The only reason we know about Gundy was his side leaking it for leverage to get more money from Okie St.

Fulmer and Urban are in touch. If you don't think Fulmer called Urban and his other contacts to gauge interest you're coming yourself. They aren't interested, it's too difficult a job, not a great home base recruiting situation, rabid fan base, one of the toughest schedules in football year in/year out and an admin notoriously unfriendly to football and a difficult booster situation.

Add all that up and it's just not considered a coach friendly job at all. The issue isn't money, we've thrown plenty of that around.
A strong AD would fix all of that, but we haven't had one of those since Dickey.

I doubt Fulmer or anybody at UT reached out to Urban or his camp (they know he'd say no, and they get too embarrassed when people say no), but you're spot on.

A lot of that isn’t true. Urban has stated on national TV that Tennessee is a top ten job. Tennessee’s reputation has no doubt taken a hit over the last decade, but this is still a great job. Big brand, plenty of money, great facilities, Bozo the clown can recruit top 15 classes here, etc.

Only if they convince Jay Hardy to enter the transfer portal and actively recruit him here only to not accept him at the last minute because I hold petty grudges.
Daaaang that's an expert Long Game play.

Reminder to folks to not fuzz with Hole or he'll posion you on your 80th birthday.

Please explain why you all are so willing to give Freeze a second chance and claim he has reformed, but one picture automatically disqualifies this OL coach candidate?

He did this in what, 2010, while still in college?
Because they hate Pruitt and everything he stands for

I get a kick out of a lot of you folks who think Fulmer hasn’t done well in this position. This time a year ago I’d venture to say most people on this site were fans. He’s simply standing behind his man because he thinks it’s what’s best for this football program. I’ll side with him over any of you.

Pugh is better than Jim Tucker...but the black face from his college playing days is a bad look.

Of course, that likely happened because of Tropic Thunder. I don't know if the dude is a POS or not, not sure if he can coach or not. But I do know he's at least better than Jim Tucker.
Ted Danson took Whoopi Goldberg to some gala in Hollywood dressed as a black face. Do you think that hurt his career? It only hurts a career if the media wants the career hurt. Same with fans.

One may be in the works now and that may have played a part in BT's decision to go early.

BT wouldn’t declare for NFL because we may get a transfer CB. He wouldn’t care about that as he was our best DB. BT decision is based on his own. His past off field issues will always haunt his draft stock. So he might as well go ahead and come out as soon as eligible get drafted mid to late and get on a roster and start his clock in the NFL. Also no reason to risk injury or another incident.

That’s my view..... the coaches aren’t the problem as much as it is all the things around the program that are so messed up.

If we are stuck with Pruitt next years staff will be atrocious
it’s one thing to come in and rearrange your entire life for what you suspect will be a one year deal. It’s a whole other thing to come in and do that under someone who has developed the reputation of being impossible to get along with. His reputation is now spreading in the coaching circles

Only incentive to taking the job is cash. Get ready for low grade mercenaries who are just here for a buck and won’t recruit worth crap since they don’t expect to last

I don’t think Weinke will be apart of the staff going forward. Not convinced Moose is back either. Pruitt’s defense was heading in the right direction in year two. With a normal offseason of development, this defense can be good next year.
So we still have 20 ppg Chaney. Oof.

And we just lost our 2 best pass rushers and best CB. Maybe we improve on defense, but people also thought we'd have a top 10 defense this year too. Pruitt proved them wrong.

We'll never win big with Chaney under Pruitt though. He and Pruitt churn out garbage, whoever is at fault idc. Just a terrible combo.
