Has this actually been proven outside of Gundy? From a list on USA Today there are 29 programs paying their head coach more than we are. Those programs include Utah, Missouri, Northwestern, Pitt and Minnesota. I am not trying to pretend that I know what kind of money Tennessee offers potential hires, but I find it hard to believe that Tennessee couldn't lure a good coach if Tennessee really wanted too.
Gundy was the only one who actually talked money with us. The others said no before we ever got to money. That tells you all you need to know.

You're dead right, but it is far more comforting for people to believe "...but we're cheap."

Quality coaching candidates know that they will likely be offered similar amounts of money in the future, but at much better places than Tennessee. They are more than happy to wait out another job if Tennessee comes calling.

I don’t know why he took such a step backwards after Georgia
He wasn’t good at Georgia which is why they weren’t bent out of shape to lose him. He put up good numbers particularly on the ground with with Chubb and Michelle.

Don’t forget Chaney was part of the staff that didn’t like Justin fields all that much.

Wish Jim would hang it up so we could pay Yurcich similar money and get much better results.

Hell, Georgia wasn't bent out of shape when they lost Pruitt himself as their DC either.

So Ansley would be demoted and Lance Thompson would coach LBs?

wheres that named been mentioned?

Ansley would be Co-DC and Secondary (let someone else call the defense)
Lance Thompson is currently at FAU, has worked with linebackers at Bama and Auburn, and has worked with literally everyone on the defensive staff.. makes sense to bring him in

Offensively... I don't know
Chaney needs to coach a position first off... QB/OL/TE pick one
Does Tee come back?
What do you do with Joe O?
I assume Weinke is gone

I heard it was the other way around and Kirby forced Fromm on everyone. Which would make sense with why he likes Salter more than Bailey.

Not my reporting but it’s been said before.

I thought the whole reason Chaney left Ga was because he wanted to coach the QBs and that Kirby ran off his choice for the position.

I doubt Tee comes back. Someone dropped the story and outside of Nieds no one has been mentioned that I remember.

Keep Joe where he is. He still needs to learn the ropes.

If Pruitt is back then Weinke is back solely to keep us in the mix with Simpson.

The Vols, sources told FootballScoop, also reached out to Green Bay Packers assistant offensive line coach Luke Butkus, though indications at this time are Butkus prefers to remain in the NFL. The Packers are vying for homefield advantage throughout the playoffs in the NFC.
