If the falcons move off Ryan, trade Julio and get a young QB contract... They could quickly become favorites in the south. They have legit pieces elsewhere
Draft Wilson or Fields. You can move Ryan after next year. You are stuck with Julio. He only plays 8 games a season. No one is going to take on his contract.

There's that guy over there who went hunting with Trey, Cooper, Cade, and Ty this week saying that Crouch and others are only the tip of the iceberg if we don't back Pruitt. They are believing that they weren't developed because of covid and they want to play for Pruitt.

But I wonder, why is it that only TN couldn't develop players because of covid?

Just like with C Martin, we now have a football coach whose drives his players to be more loyal to him than the program while alienating those who support it.

Ranking NFL head-coach openings: Chargers, Jags jobs shine

Solid ranking, I'd move the Falcons ahead of the Texans personally but otherwise I agree. The question is would a first time HC want to hinge his success on drafting the right QB in year 1 (if at the Jaguars) or would he rather have 2-3 years to do so. I also agree that Atlanta has the best owner of the group and that new stadium is amazing.

The Kentucky basketball fan base is just as bad and they got Cal.

How is it any different? Would it change anything if we all sat on our hands with tape over our mouths?
BC Kentucky is the top of the line in college basketball..... what does our football program have to hang it’s hat on that we don’t constantly try to destroy from within.

Just do something. If you're keeping him, then keep him. If not, then fire him. What they're doing leaving this in limbo is doing tons of harm to our program right now. It is detrimental to Coach Pruitt as he seeks to recruit, to sign transfers, and to hire a staff, and it's harmful to the potential new HC if we went that route. It's also embarrassing to the fanbase and players. Again. Another in a long list.
Bingo. I think the investigation is holding things up, but still this needs to be figured out already. It's killing us.

Who? I wasn’t speaking of anyone in particular with my comment.

Pretty sure Crouch came here wanting to play LB and the staff said he’d get a look there - which played a big role in him coming here in the first place.

That’s all well and good but at some point they’ve got to sit the man down and say this position isn’t for you and make a decision.

That's what I'm screaming.
What head coach candidate is going to agree to Kevin Steele as his DC knowing that he was on Fulmer's short list for head coach in 2017, and knowing how Steele tried a palace coup against his last head coach? How long would it take for Steele to use his connection with Fulmer to try and move the new HC aside?

Spoiled by Fulmer.
It wasn’t long after he was let go that people starting say it.

Good point.

Who said 3-7 wasn't on the coach? Certainly not me.

Not firing the coach for going 3-7 is on those who have the authority to do so.

The thing about distributing blame is there's a lot of it to go around.

I wasn't so much responding to you as to those who have pivoted from this being a coaching issue to an everything-but-coaching issue. If we were winning, none of this would be happening.

Now whether the AD, president, and chancellor are doing the right things, I have no insight, only faith that formerly successful people didn't lose the judgment and decision making that made them successful to start with when they became part of UT's leadership. You would know better than the rest of us whether that is true or not.

just from an offensive standpoint the Falcons should be attractive. They’ve got a lot of weapons like Carolina they need a lot of help defensively.

I see what you're saying, but in classic Tennessee fashion they don't know what they want to do yet.

If there isn't a major violation, I think they absolutely want to keep him. If there is, they'll get him go mostly because they could probably get a reduced buyout. They are totally OK with flapping in the wind until they make that determination, because they have zero sense of urgency.

Most other SEC schools, especially schools we consider to be our rivals, would have fired their probably about a month ago if they were in our same situation.

Wait so bc the players like Pruitt, that’s a problem? Like you think it’s wrong that a player has bought into Pruitt’s vision and didn’t come to UT just bc it’s UT?

Guys it’s starting to feel like we’re just making up reasons to hate on Pruitt at this point.

He's still younger than Brady, Rivers, Ben, Rodgers, & Brees...

As a first time HC if your choice is Jets with their mess at QB or Matt Ryan, seems pretty obvious which is the better choice. The GM/Owner can figure out the money situation, that's not what the HC is responsible for, now if you want to argue that Stafford, Watson, Herbert are better QBs to inherit then absolutely that's valid. But calling Ryan "average" when he's on pace to finish top 5 in 2 of the most coveted career passing records in the NFL is dumb and I'm arguing that.

Matt Ryan as of today and going forward is an average NFL QB. That’s my stance. If you agree cool if not cool. He’s had a great career. So has cam Newton. He’s not even an average QB right now.
